Job summary

American Communities is seeking a Maintenance Technician to keep our apartment community running smoothly and to deliver exceptional service to residents. You will troubleshoot and repair HVAC, plumbing, electrical, appliances, carpentry, drywall, and more.

This role requires a high school diploma or GED, EPA Type I/II or Universal certification, and 1–5 years of maintenance experience. You will participate in an on-call rotation and work both independently and as part of a team to maintain

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• EPA Type I & II or Universal certification preferred.
• 1–5 years of apartment or related maintenance experience is preferred.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
• Reliable, organized and self‑motivated with excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshooting and repairing HVAC, plumbing, electrical, appliances, carpentry, drywall, and more.
• Completing maintenance requests and vacant‑unit punch work.
• Performing preventative maintenance and property inspections.
• Providing friendly, professional service to residents.
• Participating in an on‑call rotation.
• Keeping tools, equipment, and work areas safe, clean, and organized.
