Job summary

Sanofi is seeking a Maintenance Technician for the Swiftwater, PA site on the 2nd shift (Tuesday–Saturday, 3:00 PM–11:30 PM) with overtime as needed. You will perform preventive maintenance and repairs on industrial equipment, read P&IDs, and coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure reliable manufacturing operations.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED with 2 years of maintenance experience; strong communication and prioritization skills; and preferred cGMP experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with 2 years maintenance experience.
• Effective communication, able to evaluate priorities and juggle multiple tasks at once.
• cGMP experience with equipment maintenance is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on industrial and process equipment including electrical, electronic, HVAC and mechanical components.
• Read and interpret schematics, P&IDs and electrical prints; operate with SAP and basic MS Office.
• Coordinate with end users and maintenance teams to plan, repair, and replace faulty equipment; monitor budgets and vendor interactions.
• Maintain and troubleshoot chilled water systems, pumps, valves, piping and instrumentation; ensure safety and compliance.

The Maintenance Technician will work within the Drug Substance Maintenance Platform at the Swiftwater site. The Maintenance Technician reports to and supports Building 78 & 79Maintenance APU Lead, who is ultimately responsible for the efficient, effective, and reliable operation of all equipment in their area. The Maintenance Technician will have interactions with all levels of the organization including HSE, Industrial Operations, Engineering, contractors, R&D, MSAT, and various other support groups.

The Maintenance Technician could influence and impact on the Technical Services maintenance and contractor spending budgets with the recommendations and decisions that are made to repair and/or replace faulty equipment.

The Maintenance Technician also could influence and impact the productivity and efficiency of manufacturing operations and other site support functions with the recommendations and decisions that are made to repair and/or replace equipment or facilities.

The work performed by the Maintenance Technician and documentation of this work has a direct impact on the manufacturing operations and quality results of the site.

Main responsibilities

• Preventive maintenance and repairs on industrial and process equipment including the following:
  • Electricity including single phase and 3 phase 480V
  • Electronics
  • Air Handling Unit Operations
  • Tensioning of belts and alignment
  • Bearing replacement
  • Knowledge of VFD’s
  • Knowledge of steam principals
  • JCI Metasys Systems
  • Pump repairs, rebuilds, replacement
  • Motor replacement and alignment
  • Schematics and the ability to read P&IDs & Electrical Prints
  • Refrigerators, freezers, and incubators
  • Chilled water systems, Process Water Systems
  • Replacement of valves and piping system repairs
  • Actuator repairs
  • Communication with the end user of the repairs
  • Replacement of valves and piping system repairs
  • Basic computer skills in MS Office and SAP
  • The ability to multitask, troubleshoot HVAC, electrical and mechanical systems, evaluate and repair site wide equipment is critical to the success of this role and the maintenance department.
