Job summary

JOB SUMMARY:

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing routine and preventive maintenance, troubleshooting of equipment and building utility systems, and completing timely repairs to ensure a safe, functional, and efficient work environment.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILIITIES:

• Inspect and identify equipment or machines in need of repair.
• Troubleshoots issues to determine necessary repairs.
• Plans repair work using building’s blueprints or equipment manual as needed.
• Performs general repairs that do not require a specialized technician. Examples may include repairing drywall, painting, and repairing doors and other building fixtures.
• Performs routine maintenance on building systems and production equipment
• Cleans and assists with upkeep of the facilities.
• Orders supplies and materials needed for repairs and maintenance.
• Performs other related duties as assigned per management.

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:

• Ability to trouble shoot both electrical and mechanical systems.
• Working knowledge of industrial mechanics and electrical.
• Ability to follow instructions from supervisor.
• Knowledge of general carpentry and repair.
• Attention to detail along with a sense of urgency.
• Ability to use hand tools and power tools.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Proficient with email, word, excel and able to learn localized systems.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Technical school certification or trade apprenticeship is a plus.
• 2+ years of hands‑on experience in general maintenance, facilities upkeep, or industrial/commercial trades.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Prolonged periods standing and walking.
• Must be physically able to climb ladders, bend, or crawl into awkward spaces.
• Must be able to traverse property and facility to diagnose building issues and plan repairs or maintenance.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
