Job summary

PRASCO is seeking a Maintenance Technician to keep our campus facilities at high standards, focusing on HVAC and climate control systems, while supporting general maintenance and safety. The role involves working with department heads on events and coordinating with outside vendors.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma, HVAC certification preferred, and 3–5 years of maintenance experience. Some travel and overtime may be required for events.

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years’ experience as a maintenance technician preferred.
  • Trade school preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Support projects and events around campus.
  • Manage outside vendors and provide direction when needed.
  • Assist department heads with arrangements of special events.
  • Provide periodic assistance to department heads with special events.
  • May assist in hazardous waste clean-up operations.
  • May conduct inspections of 90-day storage areas.
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance on facility HVAC systems.

General Purpose of Position: To maintain the campus facilities at the highest standard of quality and operational efficiency, with a primary focus on the maintenance, troubleshooting, and reliability of HVAC and climate control systems. Additionally, this role supports general facility maintenance and operational needs, ensuring a safe, functional, and professional working environment that reflects the company’s image.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions)
  1. Support all projects and events around campus
  2. Manage outside vendors and give direction when needed
  3. Willing to do what is asked referring to job functions and assignments
  4. Provide periodic assistance to department heads with arrangements of special events
  5. Must have patience and willing to work with others and willing to listen and take directions
  6. May assist in hazardous waste clean-up operations
  7. May conduct inspections of 90-day storage areas
  8. Conducts duties in a safe and compliant manner
  9. The ability to adapt to and to be flexible when plans change daily
  10. Perform routine preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and minor repairs on facility HVAC systems and climate controls
Qualifications/Travel

Position may require 5-10% travel.

Work Shift

This position works days. Some overtime and weekends may be required based on events schedule.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • General Maintenance Knowledge of all areas of maintenance such as Electrical, Fabrication, Welding, Carpentry, Painting, Cleaning, and PM Programs preferred
  • Good leadership qualities and abilities.
  • Knowledge of GMP regulations preferred
  • Knowledge of proper documentation preferred
Education and Experience
  • High School Diploma or the equivalent required.
  • HVAC certification preferred.
  • Trade school preferred.
  • 3-5 years’ experience as a maintenance technician in a maintenance environment preferred.
Physical Demands and Work Environment

Required to stand most of the time and to sit, talk, see, and hear. Required to walk, lift, and move up to 75 pounds. Must use hands and fingers to operate controls/equipment/computer.

Must have the ability to adjust focus for unplanned activities and other duties as assigned. Daily contact requires courtesy, discretion, and sound judgment.

Most of the work environment is indoors, but outdoor work required. The noise level in the work environment ranges from quiet to loud.
