Job summary

Pregis North America is seeking a Maintenance Technician for the Granite Falls, NC facility. You will maintain, troubleshoot, and repair equipment to minimize downtime, with potential shift work including nights and 8- or 12-hour shifts.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or credentialed equivalent in English & Math.
• 3–5 years’ experience in a Maintenance role.
• Mechanical experience required; electrical preferred, but training available.

Job Summary

We are looking for a Maintenance Technician to operate out of our Granite Falls facility. The Maintenance Technician maintains and troubleshoots equipment and machinery to minimize downtime. This role could require shift work and /or nights, 8 or 12hrs.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

• Responsible for equipment safety.
• Maintain, troubleshoot and resolve all equipment aspects of plant machinery.
• Assembly, disassembly, converting and upgrading equipment as required.
• Document all maintenance activities and champions robust preventative maintenance programs.
• Take proactive measures to improve equipment reliability and minimize downtime as well as reduce waste / scrap.
• Works with management to create, modify and fine tune equipment PM’s.
• Estimates maintenance labor hours and materials needed to complete work orders.
• Utilize manuals, blueprints, and/ or electrical schematics to develop maintenance work instructions.
• Manage the equipment bill of materials in SAP
• Prepares requisitions and allocates material to work orders in SAP
• Schedule and coordinate outside vendors for repairs and service evaluations.
• Communication with production pertaining to maintenance activities.
• Provide problem solving and resolution skills for department issues.
• All other duties as assigned.

Required Education, Experience and Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or credentialed equivalent in English & Mathematics
• A minimum of three (3) to five (5) years’ experience in a Maintenance role.
• Must have Mechanical experience. Electrical preferred, but willing to train the right candidate.
• Must have troubleshooting and problem resolution experience.
• Ability to complete assignments with limited supervision.
• Ability to read and interpret documents and blue print drawings.
• Working Conditions: Ability to walk or stand for prolonged periods; ability to bend, stoop, reach and lift up to 50 pounds and endure elevated temperature levels.

• Ability to work in a fast paced environment with a focus on quality.
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing; ability to understand detailed written and/or oral instructions including basic mathematical skills.

• Overtime requirements: Overtime as needed daily or weekends based upon business needs.

Attendance

• Must maintain an acceptable attendance record.

Training Required

On-site orientation and training will be provided.
