About The Role The Maintenance Technician plays a critical role in ensuring the safety, functionality, and aesthetic quality of residential and commercial properties within the Vacation Newport community. This position is responsible for performing a wide range of maintenance tasks, including plumbing, electrical wiring, carpentry, and mechanical repairs, to maintain and enhance property value. The technician will conduct regular inspections, troubleshoot issues, and execute timely repairs to prevent disruptions and uphold tenant satisfaction. Working closely with property management, the role demands a proactive approach to facility upkeep and the ability to respond efficiently to emergency maintenance requests. Ultimately, the Maintenance Technician contributes to creating a safe, comfortable, and well‑maintained environment that supports the overall success of the real estate development and management operations.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in maintenance work involving plumbing, electrical wiring, carpentry, and mechanical repairs.
  • Ability to use precision measuring instruments and hand tools safely and effectively.
  • Physical ability to climb ladders and perform manual labor in various environmental conditions.
  • Good communication skills, including the ability to talk and hear clearly to understand instructions and interact with tenants and team members.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certification or vocational training in maintenance, HVAC, electrical, or plumbing fields.
  • Experience working in real estate development, property management, or related industries.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and building codes applicable to residential and commercial properties.
  • Basic knowledge of drywall installation and repair techniques.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple maintenance tasks efficiently.

  • Diagnose and repair issues related to mechanical systems, drywall, carpentry, and electrical wiring to ensure operational efficiency and safety.

  • Climb ladders and access various building areas safely to inspect, maintain, and repair equipment and infrastructure.
  • Communicate effectively with property management and tenants to report maintenance status, coordinate repairs, and respond to service requests promptly.
