Job summary

Encompass Health in Naples, FL is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to keep our inpatient facility reliable and welcoming for patients, visitors, and staff. This hands-on role focuses on preventive maintenance, safety, and rapid response to equipment issues.

You will work closely with nursing and admissions to ensure patient rooms are ready, maintain facility systems, and uphold infection control standards while adhering to state and local codes.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid driver's license may be required.
• Experience with preventative maintenance and housekeeping preferred.

Responsibilities

• Comply with state/local codes; limit infractions.
• Maintain carpentry, telephone repair, and stationary engineering skills.
• Maintain knowledge of facility systems and regulatory standards.
• Perform rounds and write security reports as needed.
• Follow infection control standards for cleaning and sanitation.
• Ensure cleanliness and sanitation standards are upheld.
• Manage equipment and supplies; store properly.
• Collaborate with Nursing and Admissions to prepare patient rooms.
• Use proper body mechanics during all tasks.
• Complete floor care including stripping, buffing, waxing and carpet.

Become the Maintenance Technician you always wanted to be

• Keeps up with state and local codes and does not exceed two infractions per review period.
• Maintains skills related to carpentry telephone repair, stationary engineer and computers.
• Maintains a working knowledge of all facility systems and all applicable regulatory standards.
• Handles security functions including rounds and report writing as appropriate.
• Performs routine and isolation cleaning procedures according to infection control standards.
• Understands and institutes standards for cleanliness and sanitation.
• Maintains and monitors equipment and supplies; stores all supplies in proper areas.
• Collaborates with Nursing and Admissions to ensure patient rooms are ready for patient arrivals.
• Demonstrates competent use of proper body mechanics in all activities.
• Completes floor care including stripping, buffing, waxing and carpet

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license may be required
• High School Graduate Or Equivalent Work Experience Required.
• Previous experience in the areas of preventative maintenance, and housekeeping preferred.
