Job summary

RealTruck is seeking a Maintenance Technician II to join our facilities team. You will diagnose and repair complex systems, operate custom machinery, and collaborate with engineering to minimize downtime. The role emphasizes hands-on problem solving, welding, machining, hydraulics/pneumatics, and programing support as needed.

You will maintain a preventative maintenance schedule, manage parts and tools, and help teach operators. A high school diploma or GED and forklift experience are required.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 2-3 years of forklift experience preferred.
  • 3 years of working with mechanical systems, tools, or machines required.
  • Completion of related technical training program, certificate, degree, or journeyman apprenticeship preferred.
  • Basic computer skills, ability to add, subtract, divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair complex machines, including electrical/PLC, mechanical, welding, machining, hydraulics/pneumatics, and conveyor systems.
  • Learn to operate and keep custom machines running at peak efficiency.
  • Collaborate with engineering to resolve maintenance issues and reduce downtime through data-driven analysis.
  • Use maintenance ticket system, create work orders, upload documentation, and update parts as needed.
  • Assist with inventory, cataloging parts, and ordering replacement parts and shop supplies.
  • Rebuild machines, tools and heavy equipment and create special tools to assist production.
  • Work on machine programming as needed and train operators on machine use.
  • Troubleshoot machine issues and maintain preventative maintenance schedules.

Position Summary

Are you a skilled Maintenance Technician ready to take on more complex challenges and keep high-performance equipment running at its best? We’re looking for a Maintenance Technician II to join our team,where you’ll play a key role in maintaining our facilities and troubleshooting a variety of tools, machines, and systems. In this role, you’ll put your advanced mechanical, electrical/PLC, pneumatic, hydraulic, and machining skills to work—ensuring our custom equipment operates at peak efficiency. You’ll be part of a supportive team known for collaboration and problem-solving, and you’ll enjoy great benefits as part of a company that values its people as much as its performance.

CORE FUNCTIONS
  • Utilize advanced knowledge as required in diagnosing and repairing our more complex machines. This may include electrical/PLC, mechanical, welding, machining, hydraulics/pneumatics, and conveyor systems.
  • Learn to operate and keep custom machines running at peak efficiency.
  • Collaborate with engineering to resolve maintenance issues, improve equipment reliability, review procedures, and minimize equipment downtime through data-driven analysis.
  • Utilize the maintenance ticket system, create work orders, uploading documentation, and updating parts as needed
  • Assist with inventory, cataloging parts inventory, and ordering replacement parts and shop supplies.
  • Rebuild machines, tools and heavy equipment & create special tools to assist with production (SH edit).
  • Work on machine programing as needed and help train and teach new Machine Operators how to operate machines as needed
  • Trouble shoot machine issues
  • Maintain a preventative maintenance schedule to reduce downtime potential on machines and processes.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
Education and Experience
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Previous forklift experience required; 2-3 years of experience preferred.
  • 3 years of working with mechanical systems, tools, or machines required.
Required Licenses
  • Completion of related technical training program, certificate, degree, or journeyman apprenticeship preferred.

SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Individual Contributor: working team member with no oversight of others and no management responsibilities.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • This position is subject to Heavy Work: Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

  • This position is subject to the following physical activities: climbing, balancing, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, crawling, and repetitive motions.
Visual Acuity
  • The worker is required to have visual acuity to perform an activity such as operating machines such as lathes, drill presses, power saws and mills where the seeing job is at or within arm's reach, performing mechanical or skilled trades’ tasks of a non-repetitive nature such as carpenters, technicians, service people, plumbers, painters, mechanics, etc.
Working Conditions
  • The worker is subject to inside and outside environmental conditions, including heat, noise, vibration, and hazards from a production-based environment.
