Job Summary

Provide basic upkeep and maintenance of 53 outdoor recreation facilities in the City of Milwaukee. Primary responsibilities include maintenance support and facility inspections.

Candidates with experience in park maintenance management who are capable of advancing the care of Milwaukee Recreation's outdoor spaces are encouraged to apply.

Pay: $18.50

Hours: 40 per week

Position Summary

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs to facility buildings and playground structures.
• Install and assemble fixtures related to offices and playgrounds.
• Assist with the maintenance of work equipment or machinery.
• Troubleshoot equipment or system operation problems.
• Clean equipment, parts, or tools to keep them in good working order.
• Disassemble equipment for maintenance or repair.
• Paint surfaces or equipment.
• Perform routine maintenance such as inspecting drives, motors, or belts, checking fluid levels, replacing filters, or other preventive actions.
• Snow removal.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

• At least 18 years of age or a high school graduate at the time of application.
• Good physical condition; must be able to lift more than 50 pounds for extended periods.
• Possess a valid Wisconsin motor vehicle license and maintain a good driving record; records will be checked prior to employment.
• Pass a pre-employment drug test.
• Sign a release allowing the City to verify drug and alcohol testing results from previous employers within the past two years, if required by the U.S. Department of Transportation.

Preferred Experience

• Experience operating lawn equipment such as mowers and trimmers.
• Ability to drive trucks with trailers.
