Job summary

Sierra Pacific Industries, a fourth-generation family-owned company, is seeking a qualified Maintenance Technician for its Windows division in Merrill, Wisconsin. You will run, maintain, and repair mechanical parts and machinery in a manufacturing facility.

The role requires welding, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic knowledge, with opportunities for training, internal promotion, and a strong benefits package including health, retirement contributions, paid vacation and holidays.

Qualifications

• 2 years recent verifiable related work history or equivalent education.
• Proficient in welding, cutting, and using hand tools for repairs.
• Experience using motor control circuits, 480 volt 3-phase AC/DC motors, starters, electrical, and hydraulic systems.

Responsibilities

• Run Maintain and repair all mechanical parts and machinery in a manufacturing facility
• Troubleshoot, install, replace, and repair machines and equipment including mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
• Assist with Motion Control, PLC, MMI, and HMI programming, troubleshooting, and repair
• Install electrical components such as conduit, wiring, motor controls, starters, VFD, and soft starts
• Dismantle machinery and equipment, locate cause of malfunctioning or mechanical breakdown, replace parts from stock or fabricate replacement parts as needed
• Fabricate machine components for repairs and improvements of mechanical devices
• Effectively conduct and assess diagnostic tests to ensure optimum system functionality
• Assemble, install, and proactively maintain mechanical systems, machinery, and equipment for efficient operation
• Operate arc welder, cutting torch, hand tools, and forklift
• Fabricate, weld, mill, and lathe as needed
• Rig, lift, and move heavy equipment
• Perform general maintenance in a safe and efficient manner and maintain a clean work area
• Work may consist of various shifts and overtime including weekends and holidays during busy production times

Currently, our Windows division on Ohio Street in Merrill, Wisconsin, a growing, major window and door manufacturer with manufacturing facilities located in Alabama, California, and Wisconsin, is seeking a qualified Maintenance Technician.

About The Position

• Ability to recognize, report, and repair mechanical defects
• Industrial mill maintenance experience is a plus
