Job summary

Derby City Gaming Downtown in Louisville, KY is seeking a Maintenance Technician to install, maintain, and repair machinery, electrical systems and structural components on property. The role requires a strong background in maintenance trades and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Responsibilities include responding to daily work orders, performing preventative maintenance, repairing furniture and fixtures, and operating safety equipment.

Qualifications

  • Five (5) years of proven experience in maintenance trades including plumbing, carpentry, painting, masonry, electrical and other basic skills.
  • Three (3) years of proven experience in commercial facility maintenance.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, CMMS and IMS programs.
  • Experience with dry fire sprinkler systems-operation and resetting.
  • Ability to work alone or in a team with little supervision.
  • Self-starter with ability to make educated decisions.
  • Ability to operate maintenance equipment such as forklift, two-man lift and power tools.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Black shoes required.

  • Participate in safety training and pass associated quizzes.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Summary

The Maintenance Technician installs, maintains, and repairs machinery, equipment, physical structures, and pipe and electrical systems on property.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Responds to and completes daily work order requests involving all aspects of maintenance.
  • Performs weekly, monthly, semi-annual, annual and other preventative maintenance checks and procedures.
  • Repairs furniture, fixtures, walls, ceilings, equipment and anything else that may require service.
  • Understands the principles and operation of fire sprinkler systems.
  • Performs small welding tasks as required throughout the facility.
  • Responds to and assist with plumbing, electrical and other facility related incidents and needed.
  • May be required to operate a pressure washer and provide required cleaning as needed.
  • Responsibilities may include operating a forklift or aerial lift and passing the required training to do so.
  • Will be required to participate in safety training and pass associated quizzes.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills And Abilities
  • Must have a minimum of five (5) years of proven experience involving maintenance trades including but not limited to plumbing, carpentry, painting, masonry, electrical and other basic maintenance skills.
  • Must have a minimum of three (3) years of proven experience in commercial facility maintenance, per the above.
  • Have above average computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Office, CMMS and IMS programs.
  • Have experience with dry fire sprinkler systems-operation and resetting.
  • Must be able to work alone or with others in a team environment with little supervision.
  • Must be a self-starter with the ability to make educated decisions.
  • Must be able to operate maintenance equipment such as forklift, two-man lift, and various power tools.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Black shoes required.
Compensation Data

This position pays a competitve hourly rate of $24.00.

Education And Experience
  • High School Diploma or GED is required. Additional education or training such as trade vocational school in maintenance subjects and certificates and other training records are a plus.
  • Ability to obtain a valid racing license.
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
  • The ability to regularly lift and/or move a minimum of ten (10) pounds, frequently lift and/or move twenty five (25) pounds and occasionally lift and/or move fifty (50) pounds.
  • The ability to remain in a stationary position, move, traverse ascend/descend, position self to move, manipulate tools and equipment, and repetitively operate, use, inspect, place, detect, and position required equipment, resources or machinery.
  • Must be able to detect, determine, perceive recognize, judge, inspect, estimate and assess various working situations.
