Job summary

Legends Global in Texas is seeking a Part-Time Maintenance Technician to support the Operations department and report to the Director of Operations. The role focuses on repairs, preventive maintenance, and basic building services to ensure venues run smoothly.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED, HVAC training is a plus, and the ability to lift 75 lbs and work 8–10 hour shifts during events. Prior facility maintenance experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required, or 2 years of comparable experience plus related experience may be considered in lieu of diploma.
• HVAC technical training is preferred.
• Apprentice Electricians License preferred.
• EPA Universal Certification preferred.
• Two years' experience operating and maintaining building mechanical systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical and life safety

Responsibilities

• Perform repairs and maintenance tasks such as painting, patching, re-lamping, replacing ceiling tiles, door hardware repair, and correcting simple plumbing problems.
• Assist other Maintenance Mechanics in preventive maintenance on electrical equipment, motors, controllers, and electro/mechanical devices.
• Respond to building service calls; troubleshoot problems and take corrective action.
• Perform maintenance on domestic water systems and related mechanical systems.
• Follow safety and life-safety procedures; log work and prepare reports.
• Operate light equipment such as light trucks, pallet jacks, forklifts and access lifts.
• Develop and submit lists of necessary repairs and improvements.
• May perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform repairs and maintenance tasks such as painting, patching, re-lamping, replacing ceiling tiles, door hardware repair, and correcting simple plumbing problems, as required.
• Assist other Maintenance Mechanics in performing routine preventative maintenance on electrical equipment, motors, controllers, and electro/mechanical devices.
• Respond to building service calls; assist Maintenance Technicians in troubleshooting problems within facility and taking corrective action.
• Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on domestic water systems and related mechanical systems.
• Perform minor structural and mechanical tasks, electrical maintenance, and other duties.
• Prepares a variety of surfaces (e.g. cleaning, sanding, patching, masking, nail holes, cracks, joints, etc.) to insure they are ready for painting and/or refinishing.
• Operates, cleans and maintains all painting equipment, including brush, roll, sprayers and electrostatic sprayers, pumps, etc.
• Interpret, explain and apply building codes, rules and regulations involved in assigned maintenance activities.
• Follow the preventive maintenance program, energy management program and standard operating procedures for all machinery and equipment.
• Perform proper methods of labeling, storing equipment, materials, and supplies in a safe manner.
• Record and log all work performed, complete work order slips and compile all required reports in a timely and complete manner.
• Promote a safe working environment for all employees by following the life safety and emergency program as needed.
• Operate equipment, such as, light trucks, pallet jacks, forklifts, access lifts, or other light power driven equipment.
• May occasionally have to enter areas where fumes, airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals are present. Work at heights using correct safety equipment.
• Develop and submit lists of necessary repairs and improvements.
• May perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education/ Experience:

Other Qualifications

• Be licensed to operate a motor vehicle in the United States.
• Possess any licenses, certificates or training required by local, state, or national authorities for the operation of the equipment found in the facility.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to move around the facility; to stand for long hours during events; talk and hear. This position may require work inside or outside of the building, as needed by events.
