Westlake Epoxy is looking for a qualified maintenance technician in Lakeland, Florida. The role involves performing job tasks safely, troubleshooting equipment, and participating in preventive maintenance practices.
Qualified candidates must have a high school diploma and at least 2 years of maintenance experience. This position requires a collaborative spirit and the ability to work in a multi-craft environment, including a rotating on-call schedule.
Perform job tasks in a safe manner as instructed by supervisor. Actively participate in the site safety, quality, and 5-S teams. Knowledge of safe working practices such as lock out tag out, hot work and confined space.
Understand the use of tools commonly used by crafts, and care for the same. Able to read fabrication and layout drawings, P&ID s, parts break-down, and BOM s. Good understanding of lubrication practices and systems, vibration measurement, and laser alignment. Good understanding of the fundamentals of fans, blowers, compressors, conveyors, gear boxes, belt drives, centrifugal and positive displacement pumps, and vacuum pumps. Good understanding of fundamentals of mechanical seals, and the trouble-shooting, installation, and repair of the same. Troubleshooting of equipment performance problems. Determine repairs needed and recommend replacement parts and options for solution. Perform other duties as assigned. Comply with all environmental, safety, and health policies and safe work practices.
Capable of basic pipe fitting skills including threading, installation, and flange make up of piping spool. Understanding and repair of building and grounds systems including structural, water, drains, vents, roofs, compressed air, pneumatics, and nitrogen. Works closely with engineers, maintenance techs, site personnel, and outside contractors.
Have an understanding of troubleshooting and repairs to all plant equipment systems such as mechanical, rotating equipment, insulation, painting, liquid and solids handling equipment, conveyor systems. Participate in preventive and predictive work practices.
Be willing to operate in a multi-craft environment including acceptance of additional duties. Desire and ability to work as part of a team is necessary. This includes a rotating on call work schedule for maintenance coverage for off hours, weekends, and holidays.
