Job summary

The GEO Group, Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform general maintenance tasks and coordinate with the Facility Director to ensure safe, efficient operations. The role involves plumbing, electrical, carpentry and landscaping duties, with emphasis on safety and prompt response to requests.

Responsibilities include keeping logs, managing tools, and communicating with residents and staff to maintain a professional environment and support a unified team effort.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • 2 years general maintenance experience or related construction background.
  • Knowledge of equipment needed for repairs.
  • Able to perform plumbing, carpentry, mechanical and electrical repairs.
  • Effective communication with residents and staff, and quick emergency response.

Responsibilities

  • Perform facility maintenance (plumbing, electrical, carpentry, landscaping) as directed to keep facility operations正常.
  • Maintain security of tools and ensure staff and resident safety.
  • Follow safety procedures to prevent accidents.
  • Respond to maintenance requests promptly to keep facility safe.
  • Maintain maintenance logs, tool inventories, MSDS, and chemical inventories.
  • Communicate resident concerns to supervisors for preventive action.
  • Run errands to acquire supplies as needed.
  • Communicate professionally to support positive resident/staff relations.
  • Participate in staff meetings to address facility and resident concerns.
  • Maintain confidentiality and comply with policies.
  • Adhere to attendance policy and work overtime as required.
  • Comply with safety rules; take corrective action to avoid injuries.
  • Engage with all staff to promote teamwork.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities
Summary

The Maintenance Technician performs general maintenance work with moderate latitude for exercising individual knowledge and technical skills under general supervision.

Primary Duties And Responsibilities
  • The Maintenance Technician performs facility maintenance (including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, landscaping, etc.) as directed by the Facility Director, so that the facility operation is not adversely affected.
  • Maintain security and control of all tools so safety and security of the staff and facility are maintained.
  • The Maintenance Technician follows all maintenance safety procedures and ensures compliance so that resident and staff accidents are prevented.
  • Responds to facility maintenance requests in a timely manner, so that facility is always in a safe condition.
  • The Maintenance Technician maintains maintenance logs, tool inventories, Material Safety Data Sheets, chemical inventories, etc. in accordance with applicable requirements.
  • Be aware of and convey resident's communications to appropriate supervisors so that preventive measures can be taken to maintain the health, safety and security of the facility, residents and staff.
  • Runs errands to pick up necessary supplies as needed, to ensure they are on hand to keep the facility running smoothly.
  • Communicates with residents and staff in a professional manner to affirm and enhance selfesteem and dignity and to maintain positive resident/staff relations.
  • Participates in staff meetings by sharing observations and recommendations regarding the facility, residents and staff relations to identify and solve problems and function as a unified team.
  • Maintains confidentiality obtained through job duties regarding employees, vendors, residents, outside agencies, etc. so that sensitive information is only given on a “need to know” basis.
  • Complies with work rules and policies as explained in the company Employee Handbook, and the Facility Policies and Procedures Manual; and respond positively to directives from managers and supervisors in a cooperative spirit to ensure conformance to standards.
  • Adheres to attendance policy; work overtime as required, to ensure adequate coverage of the program and to ensure the safety and security of the residents.
  • Complies with facility safety rules; take appropriate corrective action to ensure work is performed in a safe manner and without injury to self or others.
  • Communicates effectively with all levels of staff in a manner that promotes team spirit and a sense of cooperation.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

  • Two (2) years general maintenance and/or related construction trade.
  • Must have knowledge of the equipment necessary for making proper repairs.
  • Able to perform general plumbing, carpentry, mechanical and electrical repairs.
  • Effectively communicate with residents and staff; react quickly and appropriately in an emergency.
