Job summary

NALS Apartment Homes in Houston, TX is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician for Chandler Park Apartment Home. The role focuses on service requests, make-readies, and upkeep across pools, grounds, and the maintenance shop, with on-call rotation.

Ideal candidates have at least 1 year of multifamily maintenance, skills in plumbing, electrical, appliances, and roofing, and a valid driver's license. The position offers on-call pay, benefits, and opportunities for growth within our apartment

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of multifamily maintenance experience.
• Knowledge of unit turnover process.
• Ability to perform plumbing, electrical, appliance, and roofing repairs.
• Experience with pools and spas and chemical testing.
• Valid driver's license and current auto insurance may be required.

Responsibilities

• Perform service requests, callbacks, and work orders promptly.
• Complete assigned maintenance make-readies sheets.
• Turn vacant apartments ready for new residents.
• Maintain pools/spas and conduct chemical tests.
• Care for property grounds and maintenance shop.
• Respond to after-hours calls and emergencies.
• Take on additional duties or projects as assigned.

What you will do

• Ensure all service requests, callbacks, and/or work orders are performed properly and promptly
• Complete assigned maintenance make-ready sheets
• Turn vacant apartments
• Maintain pools and spas, including chemical testing and furniture cleanliness
• Maintain property grounds, workplace, and maintenance shop
• Respond to after-hour calls and emergencies
• Perform additional duties, responsibilities, or projects as assigned

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of multifamily maintenance experience
• Previous painting experience preferred
• Skills relating to all building systems
• Knowledge and understanding of the unit turn process
• Knowledge in plumbing and pool and spa
• Familiar with appliance repair, electrical repairs, and basic roofing repairs
• Valid drivers' license and current auto insurance may be required
• 40-hour work week, including on-call rotation; weekend availability required while on-call
• Working inside and outside in all types of weather
• Medium to heavy work, requiring prolonged or repeated standing, walking, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and lifting to a maximum of 100 lbs., with frequent lifting and carrying of up to 50 lbs.
• Good hand and eye coordination are essential, including the ability to ascend and descend ladders and stairs, and perform repetitive/continuous tasks according to set procedures and sequences
