Responsibilities
  • Perform hands‑on repairs and preventative maintenance on key systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, PTAC units, fire alarms, nurse call lights, internet/network setups, phone systems, and emergency equipment such as generators; respond to on‑call emergencies as directed.
  • Assist the Lead Building Engineer in completing work orders, prioritizing tasks, and executing preventative schedules to minimize reactive repairs and ensure efficient operations.
  • Log all completed maintenance, repairs, inspections, and service activities in TELS, including details from tagged assets, incident reports, and periodic tests/inspections.
  • Conduct rounds and inspections to identify issues with cleanliness, orderliness, equipment function, or potential safety risks; report findings promptly and assist in immediate resolutions.
  • Support compliance efforts by helping maintain licenses, permits, life safety tests, and survey readiness; document activities in TELS for auditing.
  • Assist with grounds maintenance, minor construction/renovations, and inventory monitoring for supplies and parts.
  • Coordinate with vendors under Lead Building Engineer direction for specialized repairs, ensuring timely work and proper documentation in TELS.
  • Participate in safety drills, in‑services, and departmental meetings; report incidents, accidents, or concerns immediately to the Lead Building Engineer or Administrator.
  • Communicate effectively with residents, families, staff, and supervisors; maintain a professional, proactive attitude focused on resident comfort and facility appearance.
  • Perform other maintenance‑related tasks as assigned, including supporting housekeeping/laundry with equipment‑related needs when directed.
Supervisory Responsibility

None – this is a hands‑on individual contributor role reporting directly to the Lead Building Engineer. The employee may assist in task delegation and team support as needed, but has no direct supervisory duties.

Qualifications
