Job summary

Mac Haik Ford Houston is seeking a Quick Lube Service Technician to perform routine maintenance and fluid checks, oil changes, and inspections at our Houston dealership. You will inspect belts, filters, and fluid levels, and drive the vehicle for testing after service.

The role requires basic automotive knowledge, the ability to learn new procedures, and a positive, customer-focused attitude. Ford dealership experience and ASE certifications are preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Must have basic automotive knowledge and ability to identify problems quickly.
• Strong analytical and communication skills for diagnosing and explaining issues.
• Comfortable using diagnostic tools and performing basic maintenance tasks.

Responsibilities

• Test systems and components to ensure proper operation.
• Isolate problems and determine root causes.
• Road-test vehicles to verify repairs and performance.
• Maintain accuracy and efficiency in diagnostics and repair work.
• Repair or replace worn parts proactively and safely.
• Use power tools and hand tools to complete tasks.

This role will mainly be focused on fluid checks and basic maintenance. Typically, a Quick Lube Service Technician will change a vehicle's oil, check the transmission fluid and other fluid levels, inspect various belts and filters, and check air levels and gauges.

Quick Lube Service Technician Responsibilities:

• Test to check whether systems and components are secure and working properly
• Isolate the systems or components that might have caused the problem
• Drive the vehicle for testing purposes
• Maintain efficiency and accuracy in diagnosing as well as repairing vehicles
• Repair or replace worn parts ahead of the vehicles breakdown or damage
• Use power tools, machine tools, and common hand tools to perform various tasks

Quick Lube Service Technician Requirements:

• Ford Certification is a plus
• Previous experience at a Ford dealership is a plus
• Ability to identify the problem quickly
• Knowledge of automobiles
• Effective analytical and communication skills
• Strong reading, computer, and mathematics skills
• Ability to learn new technology and repair and service procedures and specifications
• Comfortable operating electronic diagnostic equipment
• High school diploma or GED
• Technical degree preferred
• ASE certifications preferred
• Minimum of 1 year in service department
• Ability to lift 50 pounds and work on your feet for extended periods of time
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Basic computer skills
• Positive, friendly attitude
