Job summary

The Maintenance Technician at The Chefs’ Warehouse will perform preventive maintenance, inspections, installations, and repairs on kitchen equipment and facility systems to ensure safe, reliable operations in our Houston facility. You’ll document work orders, manage parts inventory, and adhere to OSHA and company safety policies while delivering courteous, efficient service to customers and co-workers.

Qualifications

• 1+ year experience in facility maintenance.
• Associates’ degree in mechanical, electrical or industrial maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections, basic installations, and minor repairs.
• Carry out general building maintenance including carpentry, painting, light plumbing, and lighting.
• Maintain records of work orders and reports for regulatory purposes.
• Process work requests and submit completed documents promptly.
• Use the electronic system to order parts and track repair orders.
• Keep tools and equipment clean, safe, and in working order.
• Maintain inventory of related parts for assigned duties.
• Keep skills up to date and maintain required certifications.
• Follow safety requirements and wear PPE as required.
• Respond to emergencies to ensure safety of staff and facility.
• Identify safety issues and propose changes.
• Comply with OSHA and local, state and federal rules.
• Provide friendly, efficient customer service to staff and guests.
• Respond to departmental needs in a professional manner.

Position Summary:

The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for preventive maintenance, inspections, installations, and repairs on all assigned equipment to ensure their proper operation and function in accordance with safety regulations and company policy.

What you’ll do:

• Perform routine inspections, basic installations, and minor repairs.
• Perform general building maintenance which may include carpentry, painting, light plumbing, changing of light bulbs, and repair of minor electrical devices.
• Maintain all records, such as work orders and necessary reports to ensure accurate recording of activities for code and regulatory purposes.
• Process work requests and turn in completed work requests in a timely and professional manner.
• Utilize electronic system to order necessary parts, devices, etc. to properly repair or complete assigned work orders, following department procedures.
• Maintain all tools and equipment in clean, safe, working order.
• Maintain adequate inventory of related parts to perform assigned duties.
• Maintain technical skills and required certifications to perform job duties.
• Adhere to all safety requirements and wear the proper Personal Protective Equipment required by the job.
• Respond to emergency situations to ensure employee and facility safety.
• Report possible safety issues and recommend appropriate changes.
• Comply with OSHA, and other local, state and federal regulations.
• Maintain friendly, efficient, positive customer service attitude toward customers, clients and co-workers.
• Respond professionally to departmental needs.

About you:

• 1+ year experience in facility maintenance required.
• An associates’ degree in mechanical, electrical or industrial maintenance.
