Job summary

Franciscan Ministries is seeking a maintenance technician to repair and maintain resident units, grounds, and common areas across the community. You will follow safety procedures, complete work orders on time, and keep work areas clean and organized.

Ideal candidates have at least 1 year of maintenance experience, a high school diploma or GED, and strong mechanical abilities. This is an on-site role with competitive hourly pay of $26–$29, depending on experience.

Responsibilities

• Repair and maintain resident units, grounds, and common areas as assigned.
• Follow all safety procedures and precautions.
• Report incidents, hazards, and defective equipment to supervisor.
• Complete work orders in a timely manner and document actions.
• Keep work areas clean, organized and properly stored after maintenance tasks.
• Coordinate routine maintenance with Nursing Services as needed.
• Perform routine maintenance on facilities and equipment (lighting, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, HVAC, etc.).
• Replace burned-out lights and service heating/cooling units as specified.

Position Summary

In this role, you will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of resident units as well as the grounds and common areas of the community.

Essential Functions, Key Duties, & Responsibilities

• Follow all established safety procedures and precautions when performing maintenance service.
• Maintain general plant and community to ensure a safe, clean, and orderly environment.
• Report all incidents/accidents, hazardous conditions, and defective equipment to your supervisor immediately.
• Assure that work/assignment areas are clean and equipment, tools, supplies, etc., are properly stored before leaving such areas.
• Keep your work area(s) free of hazardous conditions, to assure that all established safety rules/regulations are followed at all times.
• Assure that established Infection Control and Universal Precautions practices are maintained when performing maintenance procedures.
• Coordinate routine/terminal isolation procedures with Nursing Services.
• Completion of work orders as assigned on a timely basis.
• Receive and follow maintenance schedule/instructions from your supervisor and as outlined in our established maintenance policies and procedures.
• Perform routine maintenance on grounds, parking areas, driveways, etc., by cutting, trimming, sweeping, etc., as necessary/directed.
• Perform routine maintenance and repair on the facility and equipment to include plumbing, plastering, electrical, carpentry, mechanical, etc., as directed in accordance with established procedures.
• Replace burned out light bulbs, to include, exit lights, overhead lights, fluorescent lights, room call lights.
• Service heating and cooling units/systems, as specified by the manufacturer, and in compliance with established policies and procedures.
• Perform unscheduled maintenance tasks as directed.

• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Comply with all policies and procedures and any updates.
