Job summary

Northland is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to handle a variety of maintenance requests and turnkey tasks for Hartford residents. The role includes HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, and housekeeping, with a focus on safety, efficiency, and top-tier resident service.

Responsibilities include completing work orders, turnover preparation for move-ins, and on-call after-hours coverage including nights and weekends.

Qualifications

• Experience in general maintenance, plumbing, carpentry, electrical, HVAC and painting.
• Strong communication and teamwork with residents, staff and vendors.
• Own hand tools required; power tools provided on site.

Responsibilities

• Complete maintenance service requests and work orders.
• Perform apartment turnovers for move-ins.
• Respond to after-hours emergencies and be on call as needed.
• Maintain safety and quality while working with residents and vendors.
• Travel to other properties if required.

About the Role

Northland is looking for an experienced Maintenance Technician to complete maintenance service requests and work orders including but not limited to HVAC electrical pool maintenance plumbing carpentry painting and housekeeping items This role will also complete apartments turnovers for scheduled move ins in a timely manner while working safely and efficiently Northlands maintenance team always maintains the highest level of professionalism and customer service when working with our residents vendors and guests As part of our promise to deliver a top tier experience to our residents maintenance team members are required to handle after hours emergency calls and be on call as needed including nights and weekends

Qualifications and Requirements

The individual must possess the following knowledge skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that they can perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation using some other combination of skills and abilities Previous experience in general maintenance plumbing carpentry electrical HVAC and paintingStrong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with staff residents and vendors All maintenance employees are required to have their own hand tools to carry out job functions other power tools will be providedTravel may be required to assist other properties as needed or to attend training classesMust be able to work nights weekend and holiday shifts as part of the on call responsibility

Physical Requirements

Must be able to stand walk andor sit for extended periods of time and climb bend and squatMust be able to push pull lift and carry weights up to 50 pounds Must be able to work inside and outside in all weather conditionsMay be required to operate a golf cart on the property
