Responsibilities
Ensure operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by performing preventive maintenance.
Assist with corrective maintenance and repairs of equipment.
Troubleshoot and determine causes of failures in electronic, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.
Read and interpret blueprints, hydraulic schematics, and electrical schematics for troubleshooting.
Wire, perform electrical installations and disconnections, and connect machine tools and other machinery.
Set up and operate lathes, drill presses, grinders, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts and machinery.
Apply Lock Out / Tag Out procedures during maintenance as required.
Initiate purchase orders and maintain adequate inventory levels of repair parts.
Assist with scheduling, facilitation, and management of any maintenance or repair contracted to outside vendors.
Control downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques and monitoring compliance.
Maintain continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
Prepare mechanical maintenance reports based on collected data, analysis, and trends.
Communicate with external suppliers, vendors, and equipment manufacturers to obtain information as needed.
Assist with implementing, maintaining, and monitoring the preventive maintenance program.
Maintain a safe and clean work area.
