Job summary

Spectrum Retirement Communities is hiring a Maintenance Technician in Gilbert, AZ. This full-time position supports the Maintenance Manager with community upkeep, repairs, and safety.

The job includes responding to resident requests and performing electrical, plumbing, HVAC, painting, and structural repairs both indoors and outdoors. Ideal candidates will hold a high school diploma or equivalent, with a certificate or related experience, good multitasking, and strong communication with residents

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1 year certificate from college/technical school or 6 months related experience or equivalent.
• Ability to multitask and manage priorities.
• Ability to work with external contractors and communicate with residents.
• Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
• Maintain safety in all duties.

Responsibilities

• Respond to resident and family requests for maintenance assistance.
• Follow directions to perform electrical, plumbing, HVAC, painting, and structural repairs.

Job Description

Schedule:Full-Time. Tuesday - Saturday.

The Maintenance Technician assists the Maintenance Manager with executing the general operating maintenance and repair of the community and physical plant. They work to maintain proper operations of the community in a safe, clean, and comfortable manner.

In this position, your main responsibilities will include:

• Respond to resident and family requests for maintenance assistance
• Must be capable of following direction to make electrical, plumbing, HVAC, painting, and structural repairs
• Working outside on exterior tasks including irrigation, tree and vegetation requirements, pool maintenance (if applicable), hardscape surfaces, and roofing

Qualifications

To be successful in this position, we believe that you need the following experiences, strengths, and skills:

• Minimum requirement of high school diploma or equivalent
• One (1)year certificate from college or technical school; or six (6) months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must have the ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities and have excellent time management and organizational skills
• Ability to work effectively with different levels of technical or professional personnel from outside contractors
• Ability to communicate with residents and their families
• Working knowledge of systems such as HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical
• Use caution in performing duties and maintain safe working practices
