Job summary

Surge Staffing is seeking a Maintenance Technician to support our 2nd shift in a clean, climate-controlled die-cast manufacturing facility. You will troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on production equipment to minimize downtime and support continuous improvement.

The role requires strong technical skills, reliable attendance, and the ability to work safely in a fast-paced environment. Training is provided to maintain equipment reliability and production targets.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred; equivalent maintenance experience may be considered.
• Previous maintenance experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or die-cast environment preferred.
• Technical training in industrial maintenance is a plus.
• Ability to troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair die-cast production equipment and related machinery.
• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on manufacturing equipment.
• Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns to minimize downtime.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues.

Maintenance Technician – 2nd Shift

Job Overview

We are seeking reliable and motivated Maintenance Technicians to join our die‑cast manufacturing team on 2nd shift. This role is responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting production equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operations. You'll work in a clean, climate‑controlled manufacturing facility alongside a collaborative team dedicated to minimizing downtime and supporting production goals.

Shift Schedule (2nd shift):

• 2:30 PM – 11:00 PM
• 3:00 PM – 1:30 AM

Responsibilities

• Perform troubleshooting and repair of die‑cast production equipment and related machinery.
• Complete preventive and predictive maintenance on manufacturing equipment.

Qualifications & Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred; equivalent maintenance experience may be considered in place of formal education.
• Previous maintenance experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or die‑cast environment preferred.
• Technical high school or vocational training in industrial maintenance, mechanical systems, electrical systems, or a related field is a plus.
• Ability to troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment.
• Strong problem‑solving and diagnostic skills.
• Ability to read technical manuals, diagrams, and work instructions.
• Comfortable working in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand, walk, bend, and perform physical tasks throughout the shift.
• Dependable attendance and flexibility to support production schedules.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with preventive maintenance programs.
• Familiarity with die‑cast manufacturing equipment.
• Knowledge of PLC‑controlled equipment is a plus.
• Basic welding or fabrication experience is beneficial but not required.
