Airgas, Inc. is seeking a Plant Maintenance Technician in Fairless Hills, PA. The role involves maintaining and optimizing facility equipment, assisting with cryogenic systems, and supporting customer needs at various sites.

You will work with compressors, valves, pumps, and control panels, following safety policies and regulatory standards. The position offers day shifts, on-call requirements, and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma; post secondary education an asset.
• Experience with arc and gas welding preferred; plumbing, carpentry, masonry helpful.
• Experience with electrical circuits, motors, compressors, pumps in industrial settings.
• Valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Install, extract, inspect, and optimize bulk tanks, valves and cryogenic pumps.
• Operate and maintain equipment for pumping gases into cylinders.
• Monitor and maintain pumping apparatus, tanks, valves and monitoring devices.
• Answer technical questions from internal or external sources.
• Ensure safety incidents are reported to management.
• Foster safe, efficient plant operations through periodic checks.
• Operate forklift, pallet jack and other warehouse equipment.
• Maintain a neat, clean, and orderly plant appearance.
• Travel to customer sites to support equipment needs as required.
• Optimize plant equipment following blueprints and maintenance manuals.

• $32/hr & Up DOE

• M-F Days 4 ten hour days -- ON Call Required.

The Plant Maintenance Technician preserves and optimizes the facility, machinery, buildings, and equipment used in compressing and liquefying gasses. You will collaborate with internal and external customers to answer technical questions regarding Airgas equipment. This role is also essential in keeping the plant in alignment with all FDA, Safecor, and DOT regulations.

Ideally, you bring a commitment to company policies, including safety and the thoughtful use of personal protective equipment.

• Installs, extracts, inspects, and optimizes bulk tanks, valves, and cryogenic pumps, ensuring successful operational tests after installation.

• Operates and carefully maintains equipment for pumping or repackaging gasses into cylinders.

• Regularly monitors and maintains pumping apparatus, tanks, valves, and associated monitoring devices.

• Builds alignment by answering technical questions from internal or external sources.

• Ensures any accident or injury is promptly and transparently reported to management.

• Fosters safe and efficient operations through periodic checks of the Plant.

• Operates a forklift, pallet jack, and other warehouse equipment.

• Contributes to a neat, clean, and orderly plant appearance.

• Operates a vehicle to travel to customer sites to support equipment needs as required.

• Optimizes equipment in the plant such as compressors, scrubbers, instrument panels, and electrical equipment, following blueprints, schematics, and maintenance manuals, using hand tools, welding equipment, and testing instruments.

• Tests equipment to identify and resolve causes of trouble using standard test meters.

• Systematically disassembles equipment using hand tools and power tools.

• Welds, brazes, burns, and solders parts with precision.

• Adjusts and replaces pipes and equipment using pipefitting tools.

• Optimizes instrument control panels, rectifiers, motors, switches, and other electrical equipment.

• Repacks compressors and pumps.

• May operate metalworking tools to create or improve parts.

• Changes filtration materials as required to ensure quality.

• We look for these duties to be performed in alignment with company policies and procedures, complying with all federal, state, local, and DOT regulations.

• Maintains a professional personal and vehicle appearance to represent the brand with excellence.

Are you a MATCH?

Required Qualifications:

• High School Diploma. Post secondary education equivalent to a one year technical college or equivalent is an asset.

• At least one year of knowledge and experience of arc and gas welding with at least two years industry experience is preferred. Competent in plumbing, carpentry and masonry work.

• Experience working with electrical circuits, motors, compressors, pumps and drives in an industrial setting.

• A valid Driver's License is required for this role.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Post-secondary education equivalent to a one-year technical college or similar background is a valued asset.
