Job summary

Eagle Rock Properties, headquartered in New York, is a full-service real estate firm offering management and construction services. We seek a Maintenance Technician to uphold apartment, exterior, and common-area conditions under the Property Manager or Maintenance Manager.

Responsibilities include handling HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and appliance repairs, plus make-ready turnovers and safety compliance. Weekend work and on-call shifts are required.

Qualifications

• 3-5+ years of experience in the trades, facilities, and/or residential building maintenance.
• Strong leadership aptitude and experience preferred.
• Knowledge of risk management, OSHA, and MSDS.
• Proficiency with HVAC, plumbing, electrical trades, and appliance repair.
• Basic carpentry, drywall, and painting skills.
• A safety mindset and an eye for detail.
• A builder's mentality (know it like you built it!).
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• A sharp professional appearance.
• Availability for emergency situations at the property, including an on-call rotation.
• The ability to exert 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly, climb stairs, use ladders and work in varying weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Showing care and concern for our residents through timely follow-ups and meticulous completion of their apartment service tickets.
• Resolving maintenance issues in the area of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and appliance repair.
• Managing the make-ready and apartment turnover process with attention to detail and timeliness so apartments can be leased and new residents can move in.
• Preserving the value of the building by consistently executing on preventative maintenance programs.
• Preserving the beauty of the building and the safety of the community through general upkeep and cleanliness, snow removal and grounds maintenance.
• Sustaining peak efficiency operation levels for all property components.
• Adhering to applicable building, county, and safety codes/standards, while running an accident-free operation.
• Working weekends and participating in the emergency on-call rotation.

As a Maintenance Technician, under the direction of the Property Manager or the Maintenance Manager, you are responsible for the appearance and working order of individual apartments, exterior, and common areas.

Responsibilities:

In addition to your technical experience with Maintenance, electrical, HVAC, and mechanical systems and their maintenance and repair, you shall have proven customer service and leadership skills by:

Requirements:

• Availability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends
• Rotating on-call responsibility for after-hours emergencies
• Valid driver's license and/or access to reliable transportation
• EPA Certification (Type I & II or Universal) recommended

Required Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Trade school and/or military training or industry designation (CAMT or CAMT II)
