First Meridian Services, Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform general maintenance and repairs at Denver International Airport. Duties include inspections, troubleshooting, planning repairs, and routine building system maintenance in a dynamic airport environment.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid Colorado driver’s license, and a 10-year TSA background check. Shift flexibility includes day hours with occasional nights and weekends.

SUMMARY

The Maintenance Technician will perform general maintenance and repairs for assigned equipment and locations at Denver International Airport. Maintenance Technician duties may include, but are not limited to, general cleaning duties and general maintenance, as well as plumbing, electrical, basic carpentry, heating and cooling and other building systems. To succeed in this role, the individual must be able to satisfactorily execute each essential duty.

SHIFT INFO

Will primarily work MID-shift hours such as 9 AM to 5 PM or 10 AM to 5 PM.

Must be flexible to work night shifts as needed, and regular weekends.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Inspects and identifies equipment or machines in need of repair
• Troubleshoots issues to determine necessary repairs
• Plans repair work using buildings blueprints or equipment manual as needed
• Performs general repairs that do not require a specialized technician (e.g., repairing drywall, painting, etc.)
• Performs routine maintenance on building systems
• Cleans and assists with upkeep of the facilities
• Orders supplies, tools, and materials needed for repairs and maintenance
• Performs other related duties as assigned

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES

• Ability to work well with others and support a positive work environment
• Ability to receive and follow instructions
• Knowledge of basic mechanical and general carpentry and repair
• Ability to use hand tools and power tools
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Flexible to work nights, weekends, and holidays
• Ability to follow all guidelines and procedures set forth by FMS/Skyport, brand partners, airport, federal, state, and local employment regulations
• Flexible to handle changing priorities, open/eager to learn, and able to work well under pressure
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to exercise good judgment
• Ability to use and understand basic math (e.g., addition, subtraction, and basic fractions)
• Comfortable working in a crowded public environment

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• 10-year TSA criminal background check
• High School diploma or equivalent
• Vocational training or related experience preferred
• Valid Colorado driver’s license and favorable Motor Vehicle Report (MVR)
• Minimum 18 years of age

WORKING ENVIRONMENT

Airport: This position operates in a climate-controlled international airport environment. The temperature, volume of noise, and exposure to the public is outside the control of First Meridian Services, Inc. The position requires use of public spaces as provided by the airport.

Restaurant: This position may require frequent exposure to a restaurant or retail operation environment. Regular exposure to varying temperatures (hot/cold/freezing), fumes, vapors, industrial restaurant equipment, noise, and guests will be a common occurrence.

The nature of restaurant work requires the Maintenance Technician to possess certain physical abilities. Those listed here are representative of those that must be met by the employee to successfully perform this job. Most of the workday is spent standing or walking and working in close proximity to others. Eye-hand coordination, depth perception, finger dexterity, functional vision, and speech perception are required. Some bending, crouching, pushing/pulling and lifting/lowering of up to 80 lbs. Some repetitive motions with hands, wrists, or arms. Must be able to operate all equipment used in the restaurant. Must be physically able to climb ladders, bend, or crawl into awkward spaces. Regular exposure to skin irritants, electrical equipment, and sharp instruments. Risk to these exposures is minimized by strict adherence to company standards, policies, and procedures.
