Job summary

PRATT (JET CORR), INC. is seeking a Maintenance Technician to support production by ensuring proper operation of machinery, equipment, and facilities. You will troubleshoot complex machinery to minimize downtime and uphold quality standards in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires 4+ years of industrial maintenance, knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, and the ability to work independently. Shift-based schedule with overtime and possible weekends.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 4+ years of industrial maintenance experience.
  • Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Ability to work without supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance and repairs with rapid response to failures.
  • Diagnose faults and plan corrective actions.
  • Follow machine calls and communicate with operators to diagnose and fix problems.
  • Complete paperwork neatly and in accordance with company guidelines.
  • Document work performed and ensure proper performance of tasks.
  • Understand power transmission, gearboxes, conveyors, and welding processes.
  • Know bearings, belts, gaskets, and seals common defects.
  • Utilize maintenance software programs effectively.
  • Collaborate with teammates and maintain a positive work attitude.
  • Adhere to safety and housekeeping policies; handle off-shift hours as needed.

Job description

$25-$39 per hour based on skill level and experience. Full-time, 2nd or 3rd shift position available, Monday through Friday with overtime required when necessary, including alternating weekends.

As a Maintenance Technician, it is your responsibility to maintain production and quality by ensuring proper operation of machinery, mechanical equipment, and building maintenance. Troubleshooting and resolving issues with complex machinery in order to minimize downtime.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • 4+ years of industrial maintenance
  • Demonstrate knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
  • Ability to complete assignments and projects without supervision
  • Strong desire to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Perform preventative maintenance and repairs with a quick response to system and equipment failures.
  • Correctly diagnose a range of faults and plan a suitable course of action.
  • Adhere to all machine calls between start and end of shift, communicating with Machine Operator(s) and teams to diagnose and fix problems.
  • Complete all paperwork neatly, accurately, and in accordance with Company guidelines.
  • Follow up on all work in orders to ensure proper performance.
  • Understand the principles of power transmission systems, various gearboxes, conveyor systems, and welding processes.
  • Understand the typical applications and recognize common defects of various bearings, drive belts, gaskets, and seals.
  • Use maintenance software programs effectively.
  • Ability to work well with others in a team-like atmosphere and come to work with a positive attitude.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures, including safety and maintaining good housekeeping.
  • Additional duties as assigned, including working after hours and off-shift hours as required to maintain production.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Able to read and follow instructions on factory masters.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Able to read measuring instruments with speed and accuracy. Able to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages, measurement, volume, and rate. Able to apply concepts of high school math.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or graphic form. Ability to deal with problems involving one or more concrete variables in standardized situations.

TECHNICAL SKILLS:

The individual must have a working knowledge of the following:

  • Equipment design and capabilities that can be translated into efficient operation.
  • Product layouts and production specifications
  • Product quality specifications
  • Quality standards
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

May be required to maintain a current Lift Truck Operator License.

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENTS:

The performance of the employee will be measured as follows.

Operating standards - the employee will need to meet or exceed the Operating Standards in the areas of quality, cost, safety, customer satisfaction, and productivity. Such standards will be set annually and communicated to the employee.

Personal growth - while the company will provide the tools to assist the employee to grow professionally, the responsibility for moving forward lies with the individual. Each year there will be goals developed and agreed to by the employee and his/her superior.

Employee relations - through observations, the employee will be evaluated regarding his/her behaviors associated with appropriate human interaction, respect and communication.
