Job summary

The Service Technician at Avanti Residential will maintain interior and exterior conditions of the Steamboat Springs property, perform move-in preparation, complete work orders (electrical, plumbing, HVAC), and respond to after-hours emergencies as needed. The role requires a track record in facilities maintenance and reliable on-call availability.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1+ years of relevant experience required.
• EPA Type II or Universal Certification preferred.
• CAMT certification preferred but not required.
• CPO certification preferred depending on local regulations.
• Strong written, verbal and oral communication skills.
• Background check required and valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Prepare units for move-ins with electrical, plumbing, carpentry, masonry, and painting repairs.
• Ensure property is safe and report any unsafe conditions to managers.
• Complete work orders within 24 hours and report emergencies promptly.
• Handle 24-hour emergency maintenance and on-call responsibilities.
• Perform exterior maintenance and light landscaping when possible.

The Service Technician is responsible for keeping the appearance and operations of the property in excellent condition, both inside and out. Daily responsibilities include making ready units for new move-ins, performing work orders (electrical, plumbing, HVAC, etc.), appliance repairs, unit inspections, updating logs as needed, and exterior maintenance. This role will respond to after-hours emergencies (on-call) as well.

What You’ll Do…

• Prepare units for move-ins with electrical, plumbing, carpentry, masonry, and painting repairs.
• Aware of the condition of the property at all times and take immediate steps to correct unsafe conditions, including reporting any safety concerns to the Service Manager and or Community Manager immediately.
• Complete work orders within 24 hours as directed by the Community Manager and/or Service Manager and report any emergency work orders in a timely manner.
• Responsible for 24-hour emergency maintenance and on-call responsibilities.
• Complete grounds pick up, sweeping, and light landscaping such as mulch and sprinkler head replacements when possible.

Requirements

What You Need to Succeed…

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• 1+ years of relevant experience required.
• EPA Type II or Universal Certification preferred
• CAMT certification preferred but not required
• CPO certification preferred for properties where applicable based on local regulations and property-specific operational requirements.
• Written, verbal, and oral communication skills.
• Knowledge of facilities management and mechanical equipment.
• Pass criminal background screening prior to employment.
• Possession of a valid driver’s license and up-to-date vehicle insurance is required.
• If minimum qualifications are met during resume screening the Wonderlic pre-employment assessment is required. The assessment will arrive in the email inbox that you provided.
