Job summary

Arcadia Cold Storage is seeking a Maintenance Technician to maintain and service warehouse equipment and refrigeration systems. You will conduct preventative maintenance, repair freezers, inspect compressors, and ensure safe operation of all machinery in our cold storage facilities.

The role requires the ability to read manuals, diagnose defects, and work independently or with a team to keep critical cold-chain equipment in optimum condition.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and 2-3 years of warehouse inventory-related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
• Ability to identify technical defects in refrigeration system and all other equipment in the facility.
• Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
• Knowledge of refrigeration and overall warehouse maintenance skills is desirable.
• Must be able to work independently or in a team environment.
• Knowledge of the safety and official procedures for handling equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform refrigeration repairs, cleaning and full service including all components.
• Check all freezer temperatures and perform walk-throughs of all freezers.
• Perform leak checks of the refrigeration system on a weekly basis.
• Check levels of refrigeration vessels and readings on compressors and gas generators.
• Handle repairs and maintenance of warehouse machinery (e.g., forklifts and lift equipment).
• Perform preventative maintenance on all machinery and set up/install new equipment as directed.
• Maintain inventory records of machinery, equipment repairs and service cycles.
• Comply with OSHA rules and internal policies while working.

POSITION OVERVIEW AND PURPOSE

A Maintenance Technician maintains the regular cleaning and service of warehouse equipment and machinery.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES

• Perform refrigeration repairs, cleaning and full service including:
• Check all freezer temperatures.
• Do a walk thru of all freezers checking evaporators
• Perform leak check of entire refrigeration system (weekly basis).
• Check all levels of refrigeration vessels.
• Take readings on all screw compressors, compressor engines and gas generators, if running.
• Handle repairs and maintenance of all warehouse machinery (i.e. forklifts and other lift equipment).
• Perform preventative maintenance on all machinery.
• Set up and install new equipment, modifies or renovates equipment as directed.
• Perform general warehouse and vehicle upkeep (i.e. cleaning, painting, repair, etc.).
• Perform demand and preventive maintenance for cold storage facility.
• Maintain complete inventory records of machinery, equipment repairs and service cycle activities.
• Comply with all internal policies and Occupational Safety and Health Administrative (OSHA) rules while working.
• Perform other duties and special projects as needed.
