Job summary

Chestnut Group is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform preventive maintenance, repairs, and facility upkeep across convenience stores and gasoline locations. You will work hands-on with electrical, plumbing, and building systems, ensuring safety and uptime.

The role requires independent work across multiple sites, a focus on safety, and collaboration with operations and leadership teams. Full-time position with company vehicle if travel is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic electrical work and repair doors, locks, walls, and interior/exterior structures.
• Paint and maintain surfaces; pressure wash and exterior upkeep; assist with store setup and signage.

Position Summary

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing a wide range of preventive maintenance, repairs, and facility upkeep across convenience stores and gasoline station locations. This role requires a hands‑on professional with experience in electrical, plumbing, general building maintenance, and equipment repair. The ideal candidate is self‑motivated, safety‑focused, and capable of working independently across multiple sites.

You’ll drive growth for our branded and unbranded fuel programs by identifying opportunities, executing profitable commercial strategies, and collaborating closely with supply, operations, and leadership teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of electrical, plumbing, structural, and mechanical systems
• Conduct preventive maintenance to ensure facilities and equipment operate efficiently and safely
• Perform basic electrical work (e.g., replacing bulbs, ballasts, light fixtures, minor wiring support)
• Repair and maintain doors, locks, walls, windows, and interior/exterior structures
• Paint and maintain surfaces including walls, curbs, canopies, and parking areas
• Perform pressure washing and general exterior upkeep of facilities
• Support grounds maintenance including mowing, trimming, weeding, and landscaping upkeep
• Assemble, move, and install furniture, fixtures, and store equipment
• Hang signage, bulletin boards, and assist with store setup needs
• Procure necessary tools, parts, and materials to complete maintenance tasks
• Maintain accurate work orders, service logs, and maintenance records
• Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, OSHA standards, and company policies

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Working knowledge of building maintenance, HVAC basics, plumbing, and electrical systems
• Experience using hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment
• Ability to diagnose issues and complete repairs efficiently
• Strong understanding of workplace safety practices and hazard recognition
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and instructions
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to work independently and maintain a flexible schedule

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

• Ability to perform moderate to heavy physical work, including lifting up to 50 lbs
• Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and climbing
• Exposure to various weather conditions (indoor and outdoor work environments)
• Must be comfortable working in a fast‑paced, multi‑location environment
