Independence Realty Trust Inc. is seeking a Service Technician for our IRT Living properties in the Charlotte, NC area. You will perform plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general maintenance tasks to keep residents happy and units ready for new occupants.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in property maintenance or related fields.
• EPA I & II and CPO certifications preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 45 lbs regularly and up to 80 lbs occasionally; push/pull up to 200 lbs with equipment.
• Valid driver’s license; available for out-of-state training within 2 weeks of start date.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and complete repairs including plumbing, electrical, appliances, HVAC, and more.
• Conduct daily inspections of property grounds, buildings, and common areas to identify maintenance needs.
• Assist with apartment turns, including painting, repairs, and general unit preparation for new residents.
• Ensure tools, equipment, and maintenance areas are organized and in good condition.
• Maintain safety compliance and follow building codes and company policies.
• Communicate effectively with residents and team members to provide excellent service.
• Respond to after-hours emergencies as part of an on-call rotation.
• Contribute to a supportive work culture.

Your Day-to-Day
