Job summary

Amrize is seeking a Maintenance Technician for its Charleston, IL facility to ensure production equipment and facilities operate safely and reliably, with a focus on electro-mechanical systems and continuous improvements.

You will troubleshoot, perform preventive maintenance, manage parts inventory, and collaborate with cross-functional teams while adhering to health and safety policies.

Qualifications

  • Graduation from an accredited high school or GED.
  • Expertise in electrical systems including 480 VAC, power distribution and low-voltage control circuits.
  • Experience with troubleshooting, installation and maintenance of electrical components per safety standards.
  • Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics and plumbing.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills and safety orientation.
  • Ability to design and fabricate using sheet/structural metals and plastics.
  • Basic ability to operate machine tools.
  • Experience operating fork trucks and personnel lifts.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to work in a team with minimal supervision.
  • Working knowledge of PLCs.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Maintenance Technician will ensure all production equipment and facilities operate in the safest, most productive electro-mechanical condition, implement continuous improvements, support new system installations, production strategies, and plant reliability.

Salary: $32.00+/hr. based on experience.

WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH

  • Maintain the facility equipment and its operation to comply with all regulatory requirements.
  • Troubleshoot failures, repair and perform preventive maintenance on production equipment, building, and all associated equipment.
  • Ensure all work orders and log information is complete and accurate in a timely manner.
  • Maintain parts inventory.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address concerns and issues that affect quality, production efficiency and equipment maintenance, etc.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

Education:

  • Graduation from an accredited high school or General Education Development (GED).

Required Work Experience:

  • Expertise in electrical systems including 480, VAC, power distribution, and low-voltage control circuits
  • Must have experience with troubleshooting, installation, and maintenance of electrical components, ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations
  • Working knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics and plumbing.
  • Good attention to detail, organizational skills are necessary, and a strong safety orientation.
  • Ability to design and fabricate using materials such as sheet and structural metals, both ferrous and non-ferrous, plastics, etc.
  • Basic ability to operate machine tools.
  • Skilled with the operation of equipment such as fork trucks, personnel lifts, etc.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work in a team environment with a positive attitude and minimal supervision.
  • Working knowledge of PLCs.

Additional Requirements :

  • Work is performed in an indoor, fast-paced, hot production environment at varying heights.
  • Ability to work under stressful conditions such as heat, cold, high and /or confined spaces and have full mobility with ability to climb ladders and stairs and do repetitive bending and twisting.
  • Employee will need to be able to lift 65 lbs.
  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
