Job summary

Ambaflex Inc. is seeking a highly motivated Maintenance Technician for the Day Shift at our Canton, Ohio production facility. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of manufacturing equipment.

Job description

Due to growth and investment in our people and our facilities we are currently looking for a highly motivated, well organized and results focused Maintenance Technician for the Day Shift for our Production facility in Canton Ohio, USA.

In this position you will:

  • Work on Day Shift schedule, from Mon-Thru 5.00am-3.30pm (4/10s)
  • Perform routine maintenance on manufacturing equipment.
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and conduct preventative maintenance
  • Work with conveyors, automated and robotics systems,
  • Repair or replace defective mechanical and electrical machinery parts
  • Fabricate parts when required/requested
  • Program PLCs and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical problems
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints
  • Coach Machine Operators on troubleshooting techniques
Your Priorities and Skills
  • Visually inspects and tests machinery and equipment. Dismantles defective machines and equipment and installs new or repaired parts
  • Listens for unusual sounds from machines or equipment to detect malfunction and discusses machine operation variations with supervisors or other maintenance workers to diagnose problem or repair the machine
  • Cleans and lubricates shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery as a part of the Preventative Maintenance Procedures
  • Installs and repairs electrical apparatus, such as transformers and wiring, and electrical and electronic components of machinery and equipment
  • Lays out, assembles, installs, and maintains pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, and repairs and replaces gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and related equipment
  • Installs, programs, or repairs automated machinery and equipment such as robots or programmable controllers
Basic Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Proven working experience as a mechanic in a production company or related
  • Ability to read technical specifications and drawings
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions and written processes
  • Adaptable, willing to adjust to changing demands and circumstances, open to new ideas and approaches problems as opportunities for improvement
  • Ability to prioritize work assignments and multitask in a fast-paced environment, calm under pressure and flexibility to adapt to changing demands as appropriate
  • Display behavior to attest to setting high standards for your own work and others; commit to continuous improvements and ensure quality
  • Good command of English spoken and written
  • Must be computer literate
  • Must complete CNC, VFD, and PLC training (or provide certificates of valid training)
  • Fork-lift truck certification
  • Lifting certification

The Team

The maintenance department is responsible for the day-to-day servicing, repair and maintenance of the facility and operations’ production and processing related equipment as well as the long-term planning of maintenance related solutions to improve the operations.

Under the direction of the Production Manager, the Maintenance Technician is responsible for the day-to-day servicing, repair and maintenance of the facility and operations’ production and processing related equipment.

Continuous process improvement for AmbaFlex Manufacturing is critical for long-term viability; hence implementing and working with improvement tools such as OEE, work requests, preventive and predictive maintenance programs is required.

You will take direction from Production Supervisors regarding any reasonable requirement not specified in the above description for the purpose of achieving manufacturing goals, quality standards and safety requirements.
