Monterey Mushrooms, LLC is seeking a Maintenance Technician to keep our Royal Oaks, CA facility running safely and efficiently. This role focuses on preventive maintenance, troubleshooting production and facility equipment, and responding to after-hours emergencies to minimize downtime.

The ideal candidate has strong mechanical skills, understands drawings and manuals, and can operate CMMS, forklifts, and related systems while complying with GMP and safety protocols.

Responsabilidades

• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on mechanical equipment, production equipment, facility systems, and company vehicles.
• Inspect, troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, adjust, and maintain equipment to minimize downtime.
• Respond to emergency production equipment failures and facility issues, including after-hours calls when required.
• Verify repairs and ensure work area is clean and safe after maintenance.
• Identify risks and communicate recommendations for repair or replacement to the supervisor.
• Operate and maintain HVAC and facility utility systems per procedures.
• Maintain records and participate in ongoing improvement projects.
• Assist with carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and general facility upkeep as needed.

Job Title: Maintenance Technician

Reporting To: Facility Maintenance Supervisor

Schedule: 7:00 am - 3:30 pm, Sunday - Thursday; occasional Saturdays. Must be available to respond to emergency equipment failures outside of regular working hours, including after hours and weekends, as business needs require.

The Maintenance Technician is a full-time hourly, non-exempt position responsible for maintaining the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of facility, utility, and production equipment at our Royal Oaks location. This role performs preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, installations, and general facility maintenance while following Company safety, food safety, food defense, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), sanitation, and other applicable procedures. The Maintenance Technician is expected to demonstrate sound technical judgment, independently perform specialty work within his or her training and qualifications, and respond promptly to equipment or facility issues that may affect safety, quality, or operations.

What You'll Own:

• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on mechanical equipment, production equipment, facility systems, and company vehicles in accordance with established procedures.
• Inspect, troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, adjust, and maintain production and facility equipment to minimize downtime and support safe, reliable operations.
• Respond to emergency production equipment failures and facility issues, including after-hours and weekend calls when required.
• Examine completed repairs and installations to verify work was performed correctly, equipment is returned to proper operating condition, and the work area is clean and safe.
• Identify equipment conditions, recurring problems, needed repairs, and operational risks; communicate findings and recommendations for repair, replacement, or corrective action to the Facility Maintenance Supervisor and appropriate departments.
• Operate, inspect, troubleshoot, and maintain HVAC and facility utility systems, applying working knowledge of heating, steam, ventilation, air-conditioning, and related mechanical systems.
• Perform required chemical testing, monitoring, and documentation for boilers, water systems, cooling towers, HVAC equipment, and other facility systems accurately and on time.
• Perform building repairs and support new construction, equipment installation, and facility improvement projects, including carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, painting, and general facility upkeep.
• Operate forklifts, scissor lifts, and other powered equipment only after completing required Company training and certification.
• Perform all work in accordance with Company safety requirements, food safety programs, food defense procedures, GMPs, sanitation standards, lockout/tagout requirements, and applicable policies and procedures.
• Use required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and follow safe work practices when working with electrical systems, chemicals, elevated work areas, confined spaces, hot surfaces, rotating equipment, and other maintenance hazards.
• Maintain tools, maintenance areas, and workspaces in a clean, organized, and safe condition.
• Work independently with little or no supervision on assigned specialty work once competency has been demonstrated, and support continuous-improvement activities and other maintenance priorities as assigned.

What's The Right Fit:

Required

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred, or a combination of relevant education and hands-on maintenance experience.
• Previous industrial, manufacturing, facility, mechanical, HVAC, electrical, or multi-craft maintenance experience.
• Working knowledge of mechanical systems and demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and repair equipment with limited supervision.
• Ability to read construction drawings, equipment manuals, electrical diagrams, and mechanical or schematic blueprints.
• Basic computer skills and ability to maintain computerized maintenance records, work orders, and equipment logs.
• Valid California driver's license and ability to meet Company driving requirements.
• Ability to become Company-certified to operate forklifts, scissor lifts, and other powered industrial equipment as required.
• Ability to work the regular Monday-Friday schedule, occasional Saturdays, and respond to emergency equipment failures outside of regular working hours, including evenings and weekends, as business needs require.

Preferred

• Formal technical training, trade-school education, apprenticeship, or certifications in industrial maintenance, HVAC/R, electrical, mechanical systems, plumbing, controls, or a related field.
• Experience maintaining boilers, chillers, cooling towers, air handlers, pumps, compressors, water-treatment systems, steam systems, and production equipment.
• Experience with preventive maintenance or computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
• Experience working in a regulated food, nutraceutical, biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or manufacturing environment.

Physical & Work Environment

• Ability to perform physically demanding maintenance work throughout the workday, including standing, walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, climbing, reaching, pushing, pulling, and working with hand and power tools.
• Ability to work in environmental conditions that may include heat, cold, noise, wet or humid areas, heights, mechanical rooms, and confined or limited-access spaces.
• Ability to safely climb ladders and work from elevated platforms or scissor lifts as required.
• Ability to wear required PPE and comply with applicable medical evaluations, fit testing, or safety training when required for assigned work.
• Ability to lift, carry, move, and position tools, parts, and equipment consistent with the physical requirements of assigned maintenance tasks, with assistance or mechanical aids when appropriate.
