Job summary

Alfa Laval in Tulsa, Oklahoma (and Broken Arrow) is seeking a Maintenance Technician to keep our facilities and equipment running safely and efficiently. You’ll work on electrical, HVAC, carpentry, plumbing, and machining tasks, including cranes, hydraulics, and welding, while upholding strict safety standards.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Prior maintenance experience preferred.
• Valid driver's license and ability to operate heavy equipment required.

• Forklift and scissor lift experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on machinery and equipment.
• Assist senior technicians and follow diagrams, sketches, manuals, and engineering specifications, and troubleshooting malfunctions.
• Apply correct methods in preventive maintenance, inspection, repair, and minor construction of buildings and utilities.
• Use Lock-Out Tag-Out procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
• Perform welding and fabrication when necessary to support maintenance and repair activities.

About The Job

As a Maintenance Technician at Alfa Laval, you’ll play a key role in keeping our facilities and equipment running safely and efficiently. This is a safety-sensitive position that involves operating heavy equipment such as overhead cranes and forklifts, requiring a strong commitment to safe work practices. Your work will span building and grounds upkeep, machine and tool maintenance, and hands‑on technical tasks across electrical, HVAC, carpentry, plumbing, and machining disciplines. You’ll install, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical systems—including cranes, hydraulics, and welding machines—while ensuring every activity meets our strict safety and certification standards. This role calls for a proactive problem‑solver with a strong sense of responsibility and teamwork. By maintaining reliable operations, you’ll help Alfa Laval continue pioneering positive impact through sustainable performance and technical excellence.

This position is in Tulsa, Oklahoma and/or Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.

As a Part Of The Team, You Will

• Ensure the smooth operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by performing preventive maintenance,
• Assist senior Technicians with troubleshooting by following diagrams, sketches, manuals, and engineering specifications, and troubleshooting malfunctions.
• Apply correct methods and practices in preventive maintenance, inspection, repair, and minor construction of buildings and utilities.
• Support Maintenance Technician II, Team Lead and Manager when additional support is needed.
• Use proper Lock-Out Tag-Out processes and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
• Notify management and/or the HS&E specialist of any safety risks or repairs required.
• Provide necessary materials to various workstations and locations to support ongoing operations.
• Understand and clarify work plans to complete assignments with high quality and timeliness.
• Select and safely use a variety of hand, power, and specialty tools for maintenance tasks.
• Assist senior technicians, when necessary, to ensure team success.
• Identify and recommend replacements or improvements when performing preventative maintenance and repairs.
• Adjust functional parts and control instruments using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, and straightedges.
• Conserve maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies efficiently to achieve job results.
• Assist other trade personnel as needed to support team success.
• Keep the workplace organized during tasks and ensure it is returned to its original condition after work is completed.
• Perform welding and fabrication when necessary to support maintenance and repair activities.

Additional job duties that maybe required of some team members:

• Perform general electrical work, including testing electrical components and taking equipment readings with various tools and meters to determine necessary repairs.
• Repair and conduct preventive maintenance on CNC controllersto ensure reliable operation.
• Perform weld repairsto equipment, achieving quality and safety levels that exceed original specifications.
• Demonstrate professionalism and cooperationin interactions with fellow employees, customers, vendors, and visitors.
• Contribute to individual and company performance improvementthrough ongoing education and participation in process improvement activities.
• Follow all safety policies and company-wide safety requirements, proactively encouraging safe behavior and addressing unsafe conditions in a positive manner.
• Comply with all company policies and proceduresto maintain a safe and productive work environment.
• Follow directions and instructions, seeking clarification when needed to ensure tasks are completed correctly.
• Assist Senior Techs, Lead or Supervisor with various tasks as required to support team objectives.
• Cross-train in other areas or departmentsto enhance versatility and support operational needs.
• Help train new employeesunder the guidance of the Team Leader or Manager.
• Maintain a clean and organized work areathroughout the shift and upon completion of work.

What You Know

You have a High School degree or GED equivalent with relevant experience:

• Valid Driver’s License required
• Basic math skills required including ability to read a tape measure.
• Prior maintenance experience preferred.
• Knowledge of Hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical troubleshooting preferred
• Electrical or mechanical technician experience or education preferred.
• Forklift and scissor lift operation experience preferred.
• Overhead crane experience preferred.

Physical Requirements (lifting, climbing, standing, equipment and/or motor vehicle use):

• Job requires standing or walking 100% of workday.
• Regularly exert up to 75 lbs of force occasionally; 50 lbs of force frequently
• Required to have visual acuity to operate motor vehicles and/or heavy equipment.
• Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) (Steel toe boots, safety glasses, fall protection, arc flash, and ear plugs)

• Exposure to various weather conditions cold or hot, wet/humid conditions, and loud noise levels. No climate-controlled environment.

• Operate in confined spaces such as narrow aisles or passageway
