Job summary

LECO, located in St. Joseph, Michigan, seeks a maintenance technician to troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical control systems, assist in continuous improvement, and contribute to equipment modernization. The role requires hands-on skills with hand tools, PLC experience, and a valid driver’s license.

Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs and adherence to safety protocols are expected. The position is full-time, with a daytime schedule and overtime as needed, based in our Michigan facility.

Qualifications

• Experience troubleshooting electrical and mechanical control systems.
• Proficiency with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs).
• Valid driver’s license and safe driving record.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and use hand tools safely.
• Knowledge of safety practices and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical control systems and equipment.
• Develop continuous process improvement strategies and concepts.
• Specify and design new equipment and retrofit existing equipment.
• Aid in standardization of controls and equipment.
• Complete periodic maintenance tasks per manufacturer and LECO requirements.

Schedule

Full Time: 6:00am – 2:30pm, Monday – Friday, Overtime as required

Position Summary

Troubleshooting and repairing various types of equipment (both mechanical and electronically controlled). Aide in continuous improvement of production and developing concept ideas and designs.

Position Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical control systems and equipment
• Develop continuous process improvement strategies, ideas, and concepts
• Specify and design new equipment along with retrofitting existing equipment
• Aide in the standardization of controls and equipment
• Evaluate, develop, and complete periodic maintenance task per the manufacturers and LECO’s requirements

• Computer Literate (Primarily Microsoft Office)

• Natural Gas Control Systems preferred
