Job summary

Niagara Bottling in Baytown, TX, seeks a Maintenance Technician to keep production and facility equipment running by quickly troubleshooting and repairing bottling line systems and facility machinery.

The ideal candidate has 4+ years in maintenance or similar roles, with strong electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematic reading skills, plus experience with shop tools and precision measurement devices. This role requires reliability and safety focus.

Qualifications

  • Ability to read and interpret electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics.
  • Proficient with shop equipment including hydraulic presses, bench grinders, drill presses, mills, lathes, and assorted power tools.
  • Proficient with precision measuring equipment such as calipers, dial indicators, bore gauges, and depth gauges.
  • Own toolbox and basic tools.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems using schematics, technical drawings, and testing equipment.
  • Repair equipment, fixtures, and systems, including conveyors and facility machinery.
  • Modify, lubricate, diagnose, and operate equipment per Niagara’s defined processes.
  • Maintain industrial control systems.
  • Work independently and collaboratively to complete repairs safely and timely.
  • Fill in for a production operator as needed.
  • Create and report repairs throughout the shift; complete required work order paperwork and document parts and material usage.
  • Follow plant safety rules, including safe lifting and machine operation; use personal protective equipment where required.
  • Maintain regular and predictable attendance to ensure equipment and facility uptime.

Job description

Niagara is seeking a Maintenance Technician to ensure equipment uptime through timely troubleshooting and repair of production and facility equipment, including injection molders, blow molders, fillers/cappers, labelers, case packers, conveyors, palletizers, stretch wrappers, chillers, air compressors, Reverse Osmosis units, and other water filtration equipment.

Minimum Requirements
  • 4 years experience in a field or similar maintenance environment.
  • 4 years experience in a similar position.
  • 4 years managing people or projects.
  • Basic experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics.
  • Proficient with shop equipment including hydraulic presses, bench grinders, drill presses, mills, lathes, and assorted power tools.
  • Proficient with precision measuring equipment such as calipers, dial indicators, bore gauges, and depth gauges.
  • Own toolbox and basic tools.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 6 years experience in a field or similar manufacturing environment.
  • 6 years experience in a similar position.
  • 6 years experience managing people or projects.
  • Experience in high‑speed manufacturing, bottling, beverage, packaging, or plastics industries.
  • Familiarity with VFDs, servo drives, rotary equipment, thermodynamics, HVAC, and fabrication (cutting and welding).
  • Experience with 480VAC & 24VDC power, PLC and safety modules, and communication protocols (ASI‑bus, CAN‑bus, Profi‑bus, Ethernet).
