Job summary

MRK Partners is seeking a Maintenance Technician for the Greenmount & Chase community in Baltimore, MD. The role focuses on repair, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance across 60 residential units, with on-call duties during weekends and holidays.

The ideal candidate has at least two years of maintenance experience, a high school diploma or GED, and demonstrated ability to read and follow instructions in English. OSHA knowledge and relevant certifications are preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years of maintenance or construction experience.
• One year of experience as a full-charge residential maintenance technician preferred.
• Knowledge of OSHA rules and regulations preferred.
• EPA certification preferred.
• HVAC certification preferred.
• Must be able to work a flex schedule and be on-call for emergencies on weekends, evenings, and holidays.
• Must be able to read, speak and comprehend English.
• Proficiency in performing plumbing, electric and machinery repair.
• Ability to follow direction and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Advanced troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Performs repairs, troubleshoots mechanical systems, and completes preventative maintenance; conducts inspections.
• Restores vacated apartments to move-in condition for new residents.
• Removes snow, ice, and leaves from sidewalks, walkways, and parking spaces.
• Completes janitorial requirements per schedule.
• Responds to on-call emergencies on weekends, evenings, and holidays.
• Patrols property daily; cleans grounds, and maintains common areas.

At MRK, our Maintenance Technicians are responsible for handling repairs, troubleshooting problems, and performing preventative maintenance across assigned properties. This role is essential in maintaining and enhancing the quality of the grounds and buildings, with a strong focus on completing work orders in a timely manner. We are looking for a dedicated Maintenance Technician to join our team at the Greenmount & Chase community in Baltimore, MD, a property consisting of 60 residential units. Key Job Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To:

• Performs repairs, troubleshoots mechanical systems, and completes preventative maintenance. Also conducts maintenance‑related inspections, including building and alarm systems
• Restores vacated apartments to move‑in condition for new residents
• Removes snow, ice and leaves from sidewalks, walkways, steps and driveways/parking spaces,
• Completes janitorial requirements in accordance with the janitorial schedule
• Responds to on‑call emergencies on weekends, evenings, and holidays—resolving issues
• Patrols property daily to identify areas in need of cleaning and completes required work—remove trash/debris from property grounds and common areas, keep the dumpster area clean, and vacuum, sweep and mop common areas, removes litter and debris from lawns, planting beds, parking areas, sidewalks, ramps, and indoor spaces

• Minimum of two years of maintenance or construction experience

Requirements

• Must have hand tools
• ANSI approved steel‑toe shoes/composite
• Must have a valid Driver’s License
• Must have reliable transportation
• Willing to assist with other properties within the portfolio and surrounding portfolios as needed
• Willing to travel up to 10-20% of the time

Salary Description

$22.00 - $25.75 an hour, plus bonus potential
