This position is responsible for all areas related to the day‑to‑day maintenance of the campus, including upkeep and appearance of buildings, general troubleshooting and repairs, and completing service requests. Work hours: Mon – Fri 8:00 am – 5:00 pm and, on occasion, may require work on weekends or after hours upon supervisor’s approval. This position reports to the Facilities Manager.
Campus Maintenance: Repair and maintenance of buildings, floors, roofs, stairways, partitions, doors, windows, screens, wood fixtures, and furniture. Perform simple carpentry tasks, such as installing shelves, hooks, or closet rods. Perform minor repairs to building fixtures, touch‑up painting, change light bulbs, and other minor electrical tasks. Open clogged drains, toilets, fix leaks, and perform other simple plumbing jobs. Assist in warehousing and distribution of supplies, materials, and equipment as required.
Conduct regular safety checks of all campus buildings as needed and as directed. Record all safety or other concerns and report them to the Facilities Manager. Detect and report defective materials or questionable conditions to the Facilities Manager. Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follow prescribed safety regulations.
Education and Experience: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a GED certificate. Minimum of two (2) years’ experience performing maintenance in a commercial or institutional setting. Ability to perform physical labor generally associated with general maintenance. Must be able to climb ladders and lift thirty‑five (35) pounds. Must possess a valid driver’s license and insured automobile; ability to work at any location and attend scheduled training. Will require travel using a personal vehicle.
