Job summary

Northland is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician for Emblem Alpharetta in Alpharetta, GA. The role covers HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, and related tasks, plus turnovers for scheduled move-ins, performed safely and efficiently.

On-call responsibilities include after-hours emergencies, nights and weekends, with a focus on professionalism and resident service. Bring hands-on skills and own hand tools to support daily operations.

Qualifications

• Experience in general maintenance, plumbing, carpentry, electrical, HVAC, and painting.
• Strong communication with staff, residents, and vendors.
• Own hand tools required; other power tools provided.
• Willing to travel to assist other properties or attend training classes.
• Must be able to work nights, weekends and holidays as on-call.

Responsibilities

• Complete maintenance service requests and work orders including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting and housekeeping items.
• Handle apartment turnovers for scheduled move-ins promptly and safely.
• Respond to after-hours emergency calls and be on-call nights and weekends.

About the Community

Emblem Alpharetta is a 210-unit community located in Alpharetta, GA. This community offers residents access to onsite amenities including a fitness center with group exercise classes, a pool, resident lounge, and a community garden.

About the Role

Northland is looking for an experienced Maintenance Technician to complete maintenance service requests and work orders including, but not limited to, HVAC, electrical, pool maintenance, plumbing, carpentry, painting, and housekeeping items. This role will also complete apartments turnovers for scheduled move-ins in a timely manner while working safely and efficiently.

Northland's maintenance team always maintains the highest level of professionalism and customer service when working with our residents, vendors, and guests. As part of our promise to deliver a top-tier experience to our residents, maintenance team members are required to handle after-hours emergency calls, and be on-call, as needed, including nights and weekends.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Previous experience in general maintenance, plumbing, carpentry, electrical, HVAC, and painting.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with staff, residents, and vendors.
• All maintenance employees are required to have their own hand tools to carry out job functions - other power tools will be provided.
• Travel may be required to assist other properties as needed, or to attend training classes.
• Must be able to work nights, weekend, and holiday shifts as part of the on-call responsibility.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to stand, walk, and/or sit for extended periods of time and climb, bend, and squat.
• Must be able to push, pull, lift, and carry weights up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to work inside and outside in all weather conditions.
• May be required to operate a golf cart on the property.
