Job summary

Air Products in Allentown, PA seeks an experienced Maintenance Technician to join the Facilities Services Team. This role focuses on mechanical troubleshooting to maintain and repair building equipment and perform routine maintenance across HVAC, water systems, electrical distribution, and safety systems.

Responsibilities include preventative maintenance, minor repairs, and assisting with office configurations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Associates degree in trades preferred but not required; 3+ years of relevant industrial maintenance experience may substitute.

Responsibilities

• Completes Preventive Maintenance, troubleshooting and minor repairs to Building Equipment including pumps and air handlers.
• Performs general building maintenance tasks such as bulletin boards, furniture, ceiling tiles, carpet tiles, signage, locks.
• Performs routine inspections, touch-up painting, and assembles equipment.
• Repairs or modifies office and room configurations by installing modular walls and furniture.
• Completes personnel moves and room set-ups.
• Performs basic Electro-Mechanical Technician responsibilities when qualified.

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to join our Facility Services Team at our Global Headquarters in Allentown, Pennsylvania.

This position will require mechanical troubleshooting experience to maintain or repair building equipment and perform routine maintenance activities.

The Facilities Services department has responsibility for the operation and maintenance of equipment related to heating, ventilation and air conditioning, water, industrial electrical distribution, fire protection systems, sewage systems, and general building maintenance.

Additionally, services are provided to other corporate groups including moving, rearrangement of office partitions, installation of specialized equipment, etc.

Required Skills / Abilities:

• Industrial maintenance experience.
• Read and Interpret drawings, blueprints, and other building/system schematics.
• Experience with shop tools.
• Ability to take direction and work independently.
• Ability to maintain certification to issue Safety Work Permits is required.
• Comfortable accessing the roof, using extension ladders, man lifts and scissor lifts.

Key Job Responsibilities:

• Completes Preventative Maintenance, troubleshooting and minor repairs to Building Equipment including pumps, air handlers, exhaust fans, plumbing fixtures, light fixtures, doors etc.
• Performs general building maintenance tasks to include installing, repairing and/or replacing bulletin boards, office furniture, ceiling tiles, carpet tile, appliances, signage, locks, etc.
• Performs routine inspections, touch-up painting, and assembles equipment
• Repairs or Modifies Office and Room Configurations by installing modular walls, workstations, furniture, cubicle walls, doors, door frames.
• Completes personnel moves and room set ups.
• Ability to maintain certification to issue Safety Work Permits is required.
• Performs basic Electro-Mechanical Technician (EMT) responsibilities when qualified
• Assists EMT's when assigned by Supervisors.
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Minimum Hiring Requirements:

• A High School Diploma or GED is required.
• An Associates degree in trades is preferred but is not required. We will consider 3+ years of relevant industrial maintenance experience in lieu of a degree.
• Able to read and understand schematics and blueprints is required.
• Comfortable accessing the roof, using extension ladders, man lifts and scissor lifts is required.
• Ability to operate a Forklift is required.
• Able to lift over 50 lbs. on a consistent basis is required.
• Availability to work Monday - Friday from 7:30 am to 3:30 pm is required.
• Flexibility to work occasional overtime is required.
• A valid driver's license and a good driving record are required.
