Job summary

Amrize is hiring a Maintenance Technician for the Theodore Cement Plant in Alabama. You will maintain, troubleshoot and repair plant equipment to keep operations running safely and efficiently.

You will perform preventive and predictive maintenance, fabricate and weld parts, and work with MSHA safety guidelines. A High School diploma and 5 years in manufacturing maintenance are required; an Associate degree is a plus. Candidates must be able to work rotating shifts and pass fit tests.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Associates/Technical degree preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of maintenance experience.
  • Training in MSHA safety guidelines required.

Responsibilities

  • Performs mechanical maintenance and mobile equipment repair.
  • Fabricates, assembles, welds, and cuts to keep equipment reliable.
  • Dismantles, repairs, and reassembles plant equipment.
  • Conducts proactive maintenance using thermographs, vibration, ultrasound.
  • Troubleshoots issues to maximize productivity.
  • Completes work orders and observes safety procedures.

ABOUT THE ROLE

To work as part of a team to ensure the continuous operation of the cement plant and associatedfacilities and to maintain, troubleshoot and repair plant equipment in accordance with plant needs withinMSHA, and Amrize safety guidelines.

WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH
  • Performs work in the areas of mechanical maintenance, mobile equipment repair.
  • Fabrication, assembly, welding, and cutting following safe and accepted maintenance practices tomaintain high equipment reliability.
  • Dismantles, repairs, and reassembles equipment.
  • Performs proactive/predictive maintenance through the use of advanced tools (thermograph, vibration,ultrasound, oil analysis, etc.)
  • Troubleshoot potential concerns required to achieve and maintain maximum productivity.
  • Report maintenance problems to the appropriate supervisor, coordinator or engineer for action and/orparticipate in corrective actions if appropriate.
  • Keep up-to-date on all maintenance procedure changes and be instrumental in developing newprocedures as required.
  • Perform preventive/proactive inspections and document findings as directed by the maintenancesupervisor and continuous improvement groups.
  • May be asked to serve as a member of a Continuous Improvement Group to resolve maintenance andelectrical difficulties.
  • Participate in the development of new safety procedures such as but not limited to lock out tag out andJob Safety Analyses (JSA).
  • Exercise good housekeeping practices at all times.
  • Safely operate mobile equipment as required.
  • Perform clean up duties are required.
  • Fill out and follow up on work orders and assist when necessary in locating and issuing stores materials.
  • Perform any and all other duties as may be assigned from time to time. Will be required to work somerotating shifts to help cover shift workers vacation.
  • May be required to perform stand-by and carry a communication device to quickly respond to plantneeds.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.
  • Other duties as assigned.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Required Education: High School Diploma/GED

Additional Education: Associates/Technical Degree

Required Training/Certifications: Trade certificate, technical degree or equivalent and/or relevantexperience

Required Work Experience: Minimum 5 years experience in manufacturing environment inmaintenance

Additional Requirements:
  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
