Job summary

A leading indoor adventure park company in Akron is hiring an Attractions Technician responsible for the maintenance and repair of attractions and equipment. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated and flexible, working various shifts and maintaining a safe work environment. Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED and a basic knowledge of hand tools. The position also requires physical ability to lift and carry equipment up to 300 lbs. and the capacity to work in a loud environment.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Some knowledge of amusement equipment is preferred but not required.
• Minimum of one year related experience and/or training is desirable.

Job description

This role will be responsible for the maintenance and appearance of all attractions. The Attractions Technician will assist with facilitating the repair and maintenance of our attractions and any associated equipment. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated and able to work in a fast-paced environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Keep accurate documentation of repairs and parts inventory
• Assist with the repair of equipment, troubleshooting of issues, and maintenance of attractions in superior working order
• Responsible for maintaining work area and back end in a neat and orderly manner
• Maintain an adequate supply of tools and machinery
• Read and interpret diagnostics from manuals
• Maintain a safe work environment and assist supervisor to ensure staff adheres to all safety rules
• Advise supervisor on any problems and/or potential problems discovered during maintenance of attractions
• Ability to work various shifts; regular attendance is a requirement for the role
• Perform other related duties as assigned

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• High school diploma or GED; or minimum of one (1) year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Some knowledge of amusement equipment is preferred but not required
• Work flexibility (nights, weekends and holidays, as needed)
• Basic working knowledge of hand tools
• General knowledge of related OSHA regulations and safety practices

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Work in a noisy, fast-paced environment with distracting conditions
• Move about facility and stand for long periods of time (over 2/3 of the time)
• Standing, kneeling, bending, walking, reaching above shoulder, pushing and pulling
• Requires ability to lift, push, pull, or carry up to 300 lbs. (70+ pounds with the assistance of a dolly)
• Ability to wear personal protective gear
• Performing the duties of this job regularly requires standing, sitting, talking, hearing, seeing, reaching, stooping, kneeling, climbing, and using hands and fingers to operate various tools (i.e., drills, ladders, chemicals, etc.)
