Susan B Allen Memorial Hospital is seeking a facilities maintenance technician to oversee plant equipment, perform repairs, and coordinate with hospital departments. You will ensure HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems operate safely and efficiently.
Responsibilities include documenting repairs, responding to maintenance requests, and occasionally covering house maintenance and security duties. The role involves working various shifts, weekends, and holidays to support hospital operations.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of heating and air conditioning, plumbing, basic electricity, carpentry, read blueprints and a strong mechanical ability.
Education:
High School Graduate with some college or technical school training.
Experience:
Minimum of 2 years' experience in plumbing, heating, and air conditioning or construction. (May be a combination).
Certification/Licensure:
None.
Code Blue Training:
Ability to activate Code Blue system by dialing 200.
May require frequent standing and walking. Requires occasional sitting. Occasionally lifts up to 60 lbs. May occasionally be required to carry up to 60 lbs. May require occasional pushing, pulling, twisting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crawling, reaching, grasping, and repetitive movement, such as changing AC filters, preventive maintenance on equipment, tightening nuts and bolts on various pieces of equipment throughout the hospital. May frequently be required to work in extreme heat, extreme cold, and outdoor work. Requires working under stressful conditions and/or irregular hours. Some exposure to communicably diseases and hazardous materials is required. Requires correct vision to normal range and correct hearing.
Work may be scheduled on any shift. Will also work schedule weekends and some holidays on a regular basis.
