Job summary

AdventHealth in Tampa, FL is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician to perform annual fire door inspections, repair panic hardware, and troubleshoot related systems. The role supports safe, compliant access control and hinges on timely response to in-house work orders and preventive maintenance requests.

The candidate will maintain records, comply with healthcare regulations, and assist in operation of painting, plumbing, HVAC, and alarm systems as needed.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or 5+ years experience.
• 5+ healthcare maintenance experience preferred.
• 3+ commercial experience preferred.
• 2+ healthcare experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform annual fire door inspections for safety compliance.
• Repair panic hardware and doors to ensure proper functionality.
• Troubleshoot and repair door hardware systems and related equipment.
• Respond to in-house work orders and preventive maintenance requests.
• Maintain complete and accurate maintenance records.
• Ensure records comply with healthcare, federal, state, and local regulations.

Job Description:

• Performs required annual inspections for fire doors to ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Repairs and services "panic hardware" on doors to ensure proper functionality.
• Troubleshoots, tests, and repairs mechanical machinery, equipment, and systems related to door hardware.
• Responds to in-house work orders and preventive maintenance requests in a timely manner.
• Maintains complete and accurate records of all maintenance and repairs.
• Ensures records comply with healthcare, federal, state, and local regulations and standards.
• Assists in the operation and general maintenance of painting, plumbing, HVAC, and alarm systems as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Installs, repairs, and services locks and related door hardware.
• Cuts new and duplicate keys from existing keys, patterns, or codes.
• Opens locks for which there is no key or existing combination.
• Maintains shop master key boxes for authorized personnel access.

• Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within a field [Required]

• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volumes [Required]
• Knowledge of safe handling tools and equipment [Required]
• Basic Microsoft office computer skills [Required]

Education:

• High School/Equivalent grad OR 5+ years experience [Required]
• Field of Study: or Equiv Work Experience: 3+ healthcare maintenance [Preferred]
• 3+ commercial experience [Preferred]
• 2+ healthcare experience [Preferred]

Licenses and Certifications:

• Driver's License (DL) [Required]
