Job summary

Visionworks is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform preventive maintenance on advanced eyewear fabrication equipment. You will work with a range of electromechanical devices, from simple to multi-axis CNC machinery, following CMMS schedules and safety standards.

The role requires reading mechanical/electrical drawings, strong problem solving, and a hands-on approach to repair and calibration. This position may involve nights or weekends and physical work as described.

Qualifications

  • Ability to read mechanical and electrical drawings.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with electronics knowledge.
  • Ability to diagnose and repair diverse equipment.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily preventative maintenance per CMMS schedule.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, fluid, and air systems.
  • Calibrate and repair components, boards, and circuits as needed.
  • Provide guidance to Maintenance Technicians (Tech I).
  • Support predictive maintenance improvements through feedback.
  • Participate in site workshops and safety initiatives.
  • Follow Lock-Out/Tag-Out procedures for safety.

Summary

Performs various types of electromechanical equipment preventative maintenance and repairs to state of the art eyewear fabrication equipment. Equipment technology ranges from simpler electromechanical devices to complex multi-axis CNC machinery.

Pay Class and Pay

Pay Class: Full Time

Pay: $21.89 - $24.45 per hour

Safeguard all hazards within our facility, utilize approved PPE’s at all times and maintain personal compliance to all applicable OSHA requirements

Perform daily preventative maintenance according to the maintenance system (CMMS) schedule

Responsible for diagnostic troubleshooting and repair in electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, fluid, and pressured air systems.

Perform calibrations and repairs to equipment in response to CMMS Web-Request including major component repairs and minor electrical, electronic circuit board and component level troubleshooting.

Act as mentor to Maintenance Technicians (Tech I)

Provide continuous feedback to enhance Predictive Maintenance

Participate in workshops aligned with facility Focus Five initiatives

Utilize Lock-Out / Tag-Out to ensure safe work environment

Education

High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience preferred

College degree in related field and or Technical School Certification in related field preferred

Experience & Background

Minimum of Three (3) recent years of related work experience

Must be able to read and interpret Mechanical and Electrical drawings

Must have working knowledge in Electronics

Must have strong mechanical aptitude

Language Skills

Ability to read English in order to interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Mathematical Skills

General mathematical skills to include basic adding, subtracting, multiplication and division

Reasoning Ability

Ability to think logically in following procedures and instructions

General problem solving abilities

Mechanically inclined

Exhibit sound and accurate judgment and demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness

Must be able to read English to understand written procedures, hazardous warning, etc.
