Job summary

Central States, Inc. is seeking a maintenance technician responsible for general repairs to buildings, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical machinery. The role includes fabrication maintenance, cutting, welding, and safe operation of equipment.

You will support skilled workers, enter records in the CMMS, and adapt to multiple facilities and shifts. A forklift license and tool handling experience are valuable for success in this position.

Qualifications

• High School diploma and 1–3 years of related work experience
• Basic knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical machinery
• Ability to read specifications and prints
• Skilled in electrical, plumbing, and general repairs under supervision
• Experience fabricating, maintaining, joining, and cutting metal parts
• Willingness to work at other facilities, weekends, and various shifts; on-call
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
• Ability to learn production areas and ERP system

Responsibilities

• Makes plumbing, electrical, and general repairs to buildings, machinery, or equipment.
• Conducts fabrication maintenance.
• Cuts and joins metal parts using various techniques.
• Welds and cuts all types of material.
• Maintains workspace housekeeping.
• Assists skilled workers across trades.
• Enters equipment records into the computerized maintenance management system.
• Ability to perform other duties as assigned.
