Job summary

Medline Industries, LP is seeking a maintenance technician to set up, adjust, perform preventative maintenance, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain assigned equipment with responsibility for production and quality.

Responsibilities include preventive maintenance on conveyors, automation, robotics and ancillary equipment; troubleshooting and escalating issues; documenting work in CMMS; analyzing downtime; and assisting with facility projects. Travel up to 10% may be required.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 3 years of experience repairing/maintaining conveyor, automation, or robotics equipment.
  • Fundamental understanding of machinery/equipment.
  • Basic Excel and PC skills.
  • Experience with inputs/outputs and PLC logic systems.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance and routine inspections on conveyors, automation, robotics and ancillary equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and correct issues on out-of-service equipment; escalate as needed.
  • Document work in CMMS and maintain accurate logs for equipment tested regularly.
  • Analyze downtime, identify causes, and initiate corrective actions.
  • Assist with facility projects and test assembled equipment for production readiness.
  • Work up to travel 10% for business purposes (within state and out of state).

Job Summary

Under limited supervision, set up, adjust, perform preventative maintenance, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain assigned equipment with responsibility for production and quality.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Perform preventive maintenance and routine inspections on assigned conveyors, automation, robotics and ancillary equipment as needed.
  • Perform routine troubleshooting of assigned out of service equipment and correct issues, act as an escalation point for lower level technicians, and upscale to leadership and/or more senior technicians as needed.
  • Document all work in the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) and ticketing systems as appropriate and maintain accurate records of all operating logs for fire pumps, generators, HVAC equipment, and other facility systems that are tested on a routine basis.
  • Perform root cause analysis of major downtime events.
  • Assist maintenance mechanics in work that requires two people or when operational needs demand.
  • Perform facility/building project work as assigned. Tasks include, but are not limited to, light bulb/ballast replacement, door repairs, furniture installation, ceiling tile replacement, carpentry duties, plumbing repairs and maintaining operation logs.
  • Assemble and test equipment to verify correct operation and production.
  • Analyze and record cause of production delays on daily production reports and initiate procedures to solve equipment malfunctions.
  • Examine defects and analyze spoilage causes and, where possible, take corrective action and verify the corrective action has eliminated the problems.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent
  • Certification / Licensure: None
  • Work Experience: 3 year of experience with conveyor, automation, or robotics equipment repair and maintenance
  • Knowledge / Skills / Abilities: Fundamental understanding of machinery/equipment
  • Basic skill level in multiple computer software packages including Microsoft Excel
  • Experience working with inputs, outputs, and PLC logic systems and ability to troubleshoot these systems
  • Willing to travel at least/up to 10% of the time for business purposes (within state and out of state).
  • Physical Abilities: Frequently move, lift, carry supplies/equipment up to 50 lbs and may have to occasionally lift up to 75 lbs
  • Must be able to stand for minimum of 8 hours and up to 12 hours for up to 6 days a week.
  • Must be willing to learn new equipment as it is brought on-line.
  • Ability to continuously ascend and descend from ladders and stairs, work at heights and/or from a ladder, work from a lying down position, work with your hands above your head.
  • Willing to operate material handling equipment (i.e. fork truck).
  • Write documents and reports using writing instruments and computers
  • Read information, often in small print (drawings)
  • Follow appropriate safety procedures such as Lock Out/Tag Out, Arc Flash, etc. and use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) while maintaining equipment, and ensure a safe work environment by eliminating potential equipment safety hazards
  • Willing to travel at least/up to 10% of the time for business purposes (within state and out of state).
  • Must be willing to work overtime as needed.
PREFERRED JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • Education: Associates Degree in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, HVAC, or equivalent.
  • Certification / Licensure: None
  • Work Experience: None
  • Knowledge / Skills / Abilities: At least 3 years of experience in a building maintenance position servicing a facility larger than 75,000 square feet.
  • Physical activities necessary to perform one or more essential functions of the position.
  • Ability to bend, twist, reach, push, lift for extended periods daily
  • Frequently move, lift, carry supplies/equipment up to 50 lbs and may have to occasionally lift up to 75 lbs

The anticipated salary range for this position: $26.25 - $38.00 Hourly

The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s location, education, experience, skills, and abilities.

Medline will not pay less than the applicable minimum wage or salary threshold.

Our benefit package includes health insurance, life and disability, 401(k) contributions, paid time off, etc., for employees working 30 or more hours per week on average.

For roles where employees work less than 30 hours per week, benefits include 401(k) contributions, paid time off, as well as access to the Employee Assistance Program, Employee Resource Groups and the Employee Service Corp.
