Job summary

Medline Industries, LP is seeking a maintenance technician to perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot and repair conveyor, automation, and robotics equipment. You will document issues in CMMS, analyze downtime, and assist with facility projects.

Candidate should have a high school diploma, 3 years’ experience with relevant systems, basic Excel skills, and be willing to travel up to 10% of the time. This role requires safety-conscious performance in a large facility setting.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • At least 3 years’ experience repairing and maintaining conveyor, automation or robotics equipment.
  • Fundamental understanding of machinery/equipment and PLC logic troubleshooting.
  • Basic Excel skills and ability to use computer systems for logs and reports.
  • Willing to travel up to 10% for business purposes (in-state and out-of-state).

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance and routine inspections on conveyors, automation, robotics and related equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair equipment, escalate to leadership as needed, and document issues in CMMS.
  • Record maintenance issues, maintain logs for pumps, generators, HVAC, and other systems.
  • Analyze downtime causes and implement corrective actions; assist team as needed.
  • Support facility projects and assist with building maintenance tasks.

Job description

Job Summary

Under limited supervision, set up, adjust, perform preventative maintenance, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain assigned equipment with responsibility for production and quality.

Responsibilities
  • Perform preventive maintenance and routine inspections on assigned conveyors, automation, robotics and ancillary equipment as needed.
  • Perform routine troubleshooting of assigned out of service equipment and correct issues, act as an escalation point for lower level technicians, and escalates to leadership and/or more senior technicians as needed.
  • Record all maintenance issues in maintenance log for each line.
  • Document all work in the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) and ticketing systems as appropriate and maintain accurate records of all operating logs for fire pumps, generators, HVAC equipment, and other facility systems that are tested on a routine basis.
  • Perform root cause analysis of major downtime events.
  • Assist maintenance mechanics in work that requires two people or when operational needs demand.
  • Perform facility/building project work as assigned.
  • Tasks include, but are not limited to, light bulb/ballast replacement, door repairs, furniture installation, ceiling tile replacement, carpentry duties, plumbing repairs and maintaining operation logs.
  • Assemble and test equipment to verify correct operation and production.
  • Analyze and record cause of production delays on daily production reports and initiate procedures to solve equipment malfunctions.
  • Examine defects and analyze spoilage causes and, where possible, take corrective action and verify the corrective action has eliminated the problems.
Required Experience

Education – High school diploma or equivalent.

Work Experience – 3 year of experience with conveyor, automation, or robotics equipment repair and maintenance.

Fundamental understanding of machinery/equipment.

Basic skill level in multiple computer software packages including Microsoft Excel.

Experience working with inputs, outputs, and PLC logic systems and ability to troubleshoot these systems.

Willing to travel at least/up to 10% of the time for business purposes (within state and out of state).

Physical Abilities
  • Frequently move, lift, carry supplies/equipment up to 50 lbs and may have to occasionally lift up to 75 lbs.
  • Must be able to stand for minimum of 8 hours and up to 12 hours for up to 6 days a week.
  • Must be willing to learn new equipment as it is brought on line.
  • Ability to continuously ascend and descend from ladders and stairs, work at heights and/or from a ladder, work from a lying down position, work with your hands above your head.
  • Willing to operate material handling equipment (i.e. fork truck).
  • Write documents and reports using writing instruments and computers.
  • Read information, often in small print (drawings).
  • Follow appropriate safety procedures such as Lock Out/Tag Out, Arc Flash, etc. and use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) while maintaining equipment, and ensure a safe work environment by eliminating potential equipment safety hazards.
  • Willing to travel at least/up to 10% of the time for business purposes (within state and out of state).
  • Must be willing to work overtime as needed.
Preferred Qualifications

Associates Degree in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, HVAC, or equivalent.

Graduate of an apprenticeship program or hold current trade certification.

At least 3 years of experience in a building maintenance position servicing a facility larger than 75,000 square feet.

Physical activities necessary to perform one or more essential functions of the position: Ability to bend, twist, reach, push, lift for extended periods daily.

The anticipated salary range for this position: $26.25 - $38.00 Hourly.

The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s location, education, experience, skills, and abilities.

Medline will not pay less than the applicable minimum wage or salary threshold.

  • Our benefit package includes health insurance, life and disability, 401(k) contributions, paid time off, etc., for employees working 30 or more hours per week on average.
