Job summary

NSG Group/Pilkington is seeking a full-time Industrial Maintenance Technician for our Shelbyville, IN facility. The role requires on-site presence across multiple shifts, including off-shift, with a focus on maintaining production equipment in a 24/7 operation.

New pay ranges are $36.40–$41.40 per hour with overtime. The position emphasizes safety, 5S implementation, and hands-on repair of CNC, robotics, servo systems, hydraulics, and electrical controls.

Qualifications

• AS Degree in Industrial Maintenance or related field (desired)
• Technical education and/or significant electro‑mechanical maintenance experience on industrial facilities equipment
• Ability to pass an accredited Industrial Maintenance Exam (Written and Hands‑On)
• Professional behavior, communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work safely and with minimal supervision
• Ability to read blueprints for specific disciplines
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair process and production equipment breakdowns
• Demonstrated mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills

Responsibilities

• Follow Safety, Health and Environmental guidelines during activities
• Engage in repair of process, production, and facility equipment
• Ensure equipment failures are resolved in timely order
• Document daily activities in the maintenance CMMS system (eMaint)
• Plan, coordinate, and implement a 5S standard for Maintenance Areas
• Communicate with all positions to complete projects and ensure equipment and facilities are in proper working order
• Generate information to secure necessary parts for projects and repairs
• Participate in PM events in all areas as necessary
• Monitor emergency breakdown calls and call for technical assistance as needed
• Provide training and direction to new employees to achieve business needs
• All other duties as assigned

Description

NEW PAY RANGES - $36.40-$41.40 Per Hour + OT

Work Environment:

This position is based full-time at the Shelbyville, IN manufacturing facility, with regular presence required on the production floor across all shifts, including periodic off-shift, weekend, and holiday coverage to support a 24/7 operation. The plant environment includes exposure to manufacturing conditions typical of automotive glass processing, including heat (tempering/furnace areas), noise, glass handling, forklift and overhead crane traffic, and use of personal protective equipment (safety glasses, hearing protection, cut‑resistant gloves, steel‑toed footwear) in designated areas. The role requires the physical ability to walk, stand, and move throughout the facility for extended periods, climb stairs/platforms, and occasionally lift up to 25 lbs. Office time is spent in a standard plant administration setting.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• AS Degree in Industrial Maintenance or related field (desired)
• Technical education and/or significant electro‑mechanical maintenance experience required on Industrial Facilities equipment (CNC equipment, Robots, Servo systems, hydraulic and power transmission, Instrumentation devices, Electrical Distribution components)
• Ability to pass an accredited Industrial Maintenance Exam (Written and Hands‑On)
• Professional behavior, communication and interpersonal skills required
• Ability to work Safely and Proficiently with minimal supervision required
• Ability to read blueprints for specific disciplines is required
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair process and production equipment breakdowns required
• Demonstrated Mechanical systems troubleshooting skills and experience
• Demonstrated electrical control system troubleshooting skills and experience
• Ability to exhibit an extreme sense of urgency
• Demonstrated ability to satisfy requirements of the ‘Functional Job Description’

Rotating Day/Evening Shifts - 2/2/3 - we will provide a schedule upon hire

Work 6 months - every OTHER weekend

Shifts Time - 7pm-645am

Hourly Pay: Range from $36.40-$41.40 - OT will be at least 12 hours per week, but will level off in the coming months
